intercooler help
hi all,
i have a my04 wrx and have purchased an sti8 intercooler. have been told that if i fitted it, i would need to have ecu remapped. is this correct? many thanks for any help. regards, robbie p.s i did try and use search feature but couldnt find info, cheers |
Don't need to have it re-mapped.....the colder air and the pressure difference will be sorted by your ECU :)
You won't see much difference in Performance but there will be a bigger safety margin as air temps increase. Are you looking for an increase in power ?? Cheers Shaun |
sti8
thanks, thats what i thought. planning to do the usual mods, sports cat etc and eventually an andyF remap. got the intake side sorted, just got exhaust side to do. not wanting crazy increase in power just a bit lol thanks again for reply :thumb:

Remember and get the sti under tray as well to get the best out of your intercooler.

yeah, have not got the sti ones but presume the zero sports ones will do???

As long as the rubber seal fits around the edge of the larger intercooler it should be fine.

it will be going for a remap, but might be 6 months down the line, do you think it might be better holding off fitting the parts till nearer remap time?
