In the middle or to the right?

I'm referring of course to number plates... :lol1:. I'm thinking of changing the look of my Terzo with a square plate mounted on one side. Below is how it is now.

And this is how it'll look.

What d'you think?

Keep it in the middle, you don't want to look like an Evo now... do you? :lol1:

You've got a point blu. ;) How about instead a minature WRC style plate? I've just got hold of a R* *** plate from the DVLA.

Small pl8 would be cool :cool: , not sure how legal it would be tho! My small front number pl8 has got motorbike sized letters on it (only legit on jap imports tho but mines a uk car :norty: ) and i've never been bothered by the fuzz or failed an mot with it on! Let us know what you decide!!

Smaller plate definetly the best option...but have to say, on the right it just looks so JDM:luvlove:

I think I'm gonna go legit and have full size lettering in the centre. I've been reading up on the DVLA's definitions for a correctly sized plate, here. I can't work out what they're referring to by "character stroke" in the document. Can anyone shed any light?

Think by stroke they mean the thickness of the letter. Why not go for motorbike sized letters and cut the pl8 down like I have done. It is smaller than standard pl8 but IMO not too small to cause a problem with the fuzz. I've had one on my car for nearly 2 years and never had a problem with it.
This is an old pic with the pl8 where you want it.

exactly what I did
Smaller plate but still legal font and spacing.;
reduces the amount of air blocked by the plate and still legal(ish) ;) :D

The one I have now is motorbike sized lettering. The problem is that I'm changing from 7 characters to 5 which in my opinion will bring more emphasis to the smaller lettering. Standard size lettering should allow for a minimum plate size of 338 x 101 mm. Current plate size is 376 x 86 mm. Sticking with motorbike sized lettering will make 302 x 86 mm. Not much in it really.

Good on ya. Mine is only a 5 digit pl8 as well. There probably isn't much difference on paper but the cut down motorcycle pl8 looks a heck of a lot better on the car! (I've shortened my standard lettered rear pl8 too! :p )
