Karcher problems
I have a Karcher K3.99 and it has been great for the last 3 years, never missed a step. However just the other day I noticed that it now makes a horrible stuttering sound when the trigger is not being depressed.
To give you the exact noise, look at this video of the guy snowfoaming a focus ST. You can hear the noise of the karcher in the background. YouTube - Snow Foaming The ST with karcher lance It is exactly the same. I have a loss of pressure and if I put my hand up to the vent at the front of the PW, I can feel water being sprayed out. Is my PW fooked ? Is it worth trying to get it fixed or should I just concede the fact it is buggered and shell out for a new one ? Cheers |
excuse for a new one !
|
Mine did exactly the same, I tried taking it to bits and lubing everything but still no good.
It`s knackered :D I bought another higher spec Karcher :thumb: |
I am getting slightly peeved now, this is the second one to do this over 7 years. I still have the first one, attached it up this morning and it doing the same thing. Guess the pump has packed up. From what I remember, karcher parts and servicing are very expensive. So am I right in thinking the cost will be the same as a new one ...crazy :cuckoo:

I shall detail it ...what polish is best for flat yellow plastic :) Got it from amazon in the end as they were doing it cheapest and they ere discounted the t-racer patio/driveway cleaner as well :thumb: |

what model did you go for? I also have block driveway paving which every year I have to normally jetwash it, takes 2-3 days doing it with the normal PW system/lance so if the T-racer can do it quicker then all good :D |
just out of interest.I have the karcher lance adaptor for the foam lance. Now my last adaptor was Classed as a non HD model and so the adaptor was for that.is this new K7.99 a HD model and if so, do I need a different lance adaptor ??

Sorry, a bit OT but is that snow foaming malarky much cop?
|
Nope, bang on topic mate.
It may seem a bit OTT but it bloody works on dirty cars. I dont do it everytime I was the cars, only if they are really mucky, as the benefits you get from snowfoaming are wasted on clean(ish) cars. Far better off to just do your normal two bucket wash routine. But be warned the snow foaming is ****ing addictive :lol1: |
I needed to clean my arches monday because of santa pod road being all muddy at 8am, so I get me Karcher out, extension real, hose and soapy water etc and switches on the karcher and press the trigger and there was no pressure coming out of the gun, just a thin jet in a circular motion. Usually when I switch on the karcher you can her the motor suck up water, but this time it did not. Maybe the motor has gone?

you would normally get a motor or whoosing noise when the karcher is first switched on, showing you it is working. It sounds as though you are getting water pressure from the tap but no karcher pressure. Check your extension lead first for a cutout switch and plu something else into it to check. if the extension lead or plug is working, check the fuse on the karcher plug. If that seems fine, make sure the water is charged and flowing through the pipe before turning on the karcher. they like to be fully charged ( i.e with water) before being switched on. if all that fails, then yes the motor or seal may have gone, but you would normally get some sort of warning first. |
Cheers will do.

Chris,
I tried the PW just with its own power cord and it works fine, but for some reason it won't work with the extension lead even when fully unwound. It works with the Dyson. So I don't know what to try now? |
