05 wrx interiors

Im looking around for an 05 wrx in crystal grey and ive noticed that the seat designs seem to vary. Most are normal looking but a few ive seen look a bit better and have like a lump of material i suppose in between your legs. Hope that makes sense

leonski 18 June 2008 03:44 PM

ive now seen the better one described as black perforated fabric. Is there a certain spec car that has these or is it just random?

Imports often have these seats :)

leonski 18 June 2008 03:56 PM

interesting

Mark'sWRX 18 June 2008 04:02 PM

Yes, most Euro imports have the lump between the seats. If you are looking to buy, then don't worry if it is EU import, just pay about £1k-£1500 less. Also make sure it has locking wheel nuts and more importantly a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm.

Most people think the import seats are more supportive, but most don't have side airbags. Your choice!

leonski 18 June 2008 04:13 PM

are they seats off an older model? Which ones look best in real life?

leonski 18 June 2008 04:47 PM

are the uk 05 seats all one fabric or are the outside parts different to the inside. cant find a decent photo of any. i like the look of that perforated black stuff but is that only on imports?

andy_s37 18 June 2008 05:36 PM

I think the ones you have seen that don't have the lump in the middle have side air bags in them. The ones that do have the lump (more like a conventional bucket seat) don't have airbags IIRC.

Andy

do the airbag ones not look sporty then?

They still look sporty cos they are still buckets afterall, but I reckon the import seats look more sporty as they are more curvier if you know what I mean:Suspiciou

The import seats. I had UK WRX seats in mine, but changed the interior for a JDM STI with the lump in the middle of the seat (to rest your nuts:lol1: ), looks better imo. But as said, because my old seats had airbags, these don't, meaning my airbag warning light is on all the time (need to get that sorted)

leonski 20 June 2008 01:38 PM

yes the import ones do look better. Is there no uk ones with these fitted then? So basically if i look at a car i know for definate if its an import or not by the seats?
Is there any difference in an import car though eg servicing, parts etc...

Mark'sWRX 21 June 2008 12:04 PM

AFAIK, if it has the lump then it is an import. But, if it doesn't then it could be either (but more likely UK). I think the UK cars have a mini centre sun visor and the imports don't (someone may corfirm this or not).

If it is an EU car (not Jap), then servicing is supposed to be every 15k km (9300m), instead of 10k miles, but there's no harm in switching to UK service schedule. Parts and insurance are the same.

I am after a pair of import spec WRX seats to put in my UK car if anyone knows of any for sale, I think they look better and are more supportive, but I don't want to put sti trim in as I do like the black interior.

D.O.M 21 June 2008 03:12 PM

Try Jap Performance Parts : Home. Though they tend to sell sti seats, but you might be lucky;)

The other way round, UK cars don't have the mini sun visors

Clarkie172 21 June 2008 03:40 PM

you learn something new every day! I thought all seats had the lump! How wrong I was :-)

My UK wrx has the mini sunvisor, strange:confused: .

Andy.

daz1968 22 June 2008 09:27 AM

so does my UK wrx have the centre mini sun visor, and mine is 100% uk and was bought from a main dealer.

Flaps 22 June 2008 11:51 AM

Yep, my UK WRX has a sun visor too.

53 22 June 2008 12:12 PM

IIRC the facelift interior blobs lost the centre sunvisor in favour of a more tinted top windscreen, could be wrong though its been a while.:)

D.O.M 22 June 2008 03:44 PM

Ok, not sure anymore. But my MY06 UK wrx doesn't have a mini sunvisor.
Maybe someone can enlighten us?!

leonski 23 June 2008 09:31 PM

ive seen an 05 wrk and it has the lumps in the seats but the garage reckons its definately a uk. Is he wrong?

D.O.M 23 June 2008 10:27 PM

Best thing is get the chassis number and call Subaru UK to be 100%.

Mark'sWRX 24 June 2008 05:18 PM

Ask to see the service book. It will have the supplying dealer stamp in the front and the date they did the PDI.

5doorbullet 24 June 2008 10:28 PM

I've got a 05 wrx import in crystal grey and i'll sell you it if the money's right:lol1: and the front seats have the lump between your legs and no center visor

leonski 25 June 2008 04:06 PM
