This must be worth it just for the brakes

Ebay Car

Sorry for the ebay link and it's not my car.

This 'old girl' must be worth it for the brakes alone, then break the rest of the car for parts.

If only I had some spare cash:(

Not a bad idea if you had the time/cash to break it

Sounds like a good trackday car to me, decent brakes and tyres, who cares about bodywork, just paint it matt black, strip out everything not welded and enjoy:norty: . When its dead break it up...

Have seen this car and it's worth noting the following:

- Is leaking oil quite badly
- Rear brakes are shot
- Rear arch is rotten through with rust
- Wheels are scruffy
- Belts were very worn

Thats ontop of the problems mentioned in the ebay ad.

He offered it for £1200, but I didn't see much value in breaking it tbh as there is too much on there of value that doesn't need work (ie gearbox, engine etc), bearing in mind you can pick up MY99/00 cars from £2k.

Maybe not such a bargain then.

Still, I thought the brakes were a worth while bet, and then try to recoup some of the cost with parts. Personally, I wasn't thinking about using the car to drive at all.

...there was also slight brake judder on the test drive, not sure if it was down to the fronts or rears though.
