Reviving leather steering wheel?

Is there any paint or treatment that can be used on a scuffed leather steering wheel. Its black btw.

Shoe dye?

It's dead easy to put on, wears VERY well indeed, (it's made for leather shoes) and is sold by most Timpsons..........
