The Audi TT wave

Took the car out for a drive tonight got the wanker sign as I went past an Audi TT. FFS what's their problem? None competition! Got the scooby wave from 3 Impreza's. Only thing I can think of is it's the Audi wave!

There are some strange people out there, best just to ignore them.

I passed a lorry the other day on a duel carriageway and the driver went mental. I wanted to turn left so used the left lane. The right hand land was entirely free and the lorry went into it. For some reason having one whole lane entirely to himself was not sufficient, as he chopped up a bunch of people in the inside lane, and then screeched around the roundabout to be first...only nobody else was even going in his direction...

*shrug*

I got a nod from a biker last saturday but on the flip side I got the finger today from a bloke in his "armoured" people carrier for having the right of way, how vey dare I indeed. Must admit though I havent been given the finger for ages and it did make me laugh.

Maybe he thought you were another TT !! (think about it....)

Manx_STi 10 June 2008 07:14 PM

This thread highlights the reaction and thoughts of what lots of other motorists think of the "old" shapes of Impreza.. or to look at it another way how they feel about the drivers of the old shape impreza who you have to admit have such a reputation that they cause other motorists to burst out tourettes stylee with hand signals and rude profanities.

If im honest i would never have bought one of the old shape Impreza due to this.. possibly thats shallow i know but the latest MY08 version has given me a chance to experience the STi experience for myself because everyone is looking at it with fresh eyes, no one has ever had one cut them up etc etc.

Or maybe the guy in the TT was a repressed Impreza wannabe who was actually gagging to have a blast.. but i suspect he was simply a cokc.

wrx9181 10 June 2008 07:58 PM

its audi s in general not usually the top of the range modles though def taken over from the beemer drivers for attitude but its easy if you think about it would you be happy sat where they are ha ha lol

chris singleton 10 June 2008 08:39 PM

I find most TT's are driven by kn0b j0ckies, metrosexuals, or topey darts. There are only a few driven by sensible people. One TT driver of the blonde bimbo stylee flumoxed me at the petrol station a few weeks ago, with the comment, "Have you got a PPP, as that's not the standard back box"
:eek2: There again, it was a 3.2 Quattro, so her or her sugar daddy aren't THAT bad. I do prefer the newer shape, a bit more purposeful looking.

ScaldedCat 12 June 2008 12:54 PM

I was given the 'wanker wave' twice last night driving through a local town.

One chap was most insistent that I understood his gesticulations by leaning out of the window of his Escort and shouting into my car as we passed each other...then two minutes later, had some baseball-capped oaf using both hands at me as I drove past!
Very odd - this is the first time I've had this in many years of (on-off) Impreza ownership. :Suspiciou
