new owner - hesitation and tips

Hi guys, ive just bought my 1st impreza, a 03 wrx wagon, 50k miles.

Ive noticed that when accelerating from low revs (2-3k revs) when the boost comes in, the car hesitates slightly, like a hiccup. seems to be fine once on boost. Is this normal behaviour for this model?

As im new to these engines, are there any little jobs that people generally do to them after buying one, like cleaning throttle body etc.

Apart from that - great car,

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......I've got a '01 bugeye but it's basically the same motor. The hesitstion doesn't sound right mate, you don't say whether you have any mods on the engine? I'd check the plugs first, I hope you've been putting premium unleaded in the tank (98+ octane) otherwise, check the air filter.....sorry I can't be more helpful:wonder:

Hi there,

the 1st tank (which im still on) was just normal unleaded, i have read that its probably better to use higher grade fuel, so nxt time ill use 98+ and see how it is (not sure if ecu would need reset if going back onto 98+ (assuming the previous over used it?). The car has no mods - boggo standard. Plugs potentially, ive nothing to state that they have been changed since 2005 @ 30k miles.
