Remap, who, where?!!

I have a 2001 bug eye wrx, to which I've added a freee flowing exhaust and blitz filter.
Due to removing the cats I now have the engine warning light on (lamda confused etc)
Decided to get a remap, Ecutek seem the best, where do I go and who the cheapest / best, I know these dont go hand in hand!!!

Any help would be most appreciated.......

:)

I'm in the midlands, just south of birmingham.
I have heard Bob Rawle's name mentioned a few times on different threads, is he part of a company or just a private tuner?

Round our way - i.e. Norfolk/Suffolk, Scooby expertise is thin on the ground. In fact, non-existent. Clive Atthowe's in Norwich now have a nice new Dyno Dynamics rolling road, and they certainly do have Scoobs in (amongst loads of other makes) plus they do do mapping but I don't know much more than that. Dave at Henstead Motorsport near Beccles know his stuff if it's mechanical work you're after.

nutsaboutscoobies 07 June 2008 04:25 PM

ok i will ask on that forum.. i am a member there.. just looking for mapping..

Jolly Green Monster 07 June 2008 09:46 PM

I think I know someone who maps and travels ;)

nutsaboutscoobies 07 June 2008 11:06 PM

what do you charge im looking to get over 300bhp???

wrxginge 07 June 2008 11:42 PM

I'm in the midlands, just south of birmingham.
Im in south birmingham and just had mine mapped the other day by jollygreenmonster.

Hes willing to travel up here and Id fully recommend him.

Slick81 08 June 2008 12:09 AM

Pavlo!! Zen Performance. Thats a personal recommendation.

Take in to account where you are and where you are willing to travel.

All the above mentioned will give you great results :notworthy

Just pick one. Plain and simple.

bhp will depends on mods, map will be same price no matter what power you get at the end

PhilA 09 June 2008 12:49 PM

I would use Bob Rawle, as I did yesterday. For the money consider getting SimTek instead of EcuTek

Tidgy 09 June 2008 12:53 PM

simtek isn't as cheap as people first think, bolts on are required for certain features and when they go on there's cheaper ecu's out there

jd5217 09 June 2008 12:58 PM

the only add one for the simtek are the anti-lag and launch control for £150

Dead right ! A modern ECu system that does not require a MAF and can be fitted and mapped with Launch and Anti-lag for £950.00 + VAT on Classic Impreza up to 1998.

There is no viable competitor, that I am aware of.

THAT is why all the serious mappers are using it.

how much is it on a new age?

XR-Wayne 09 June 2008 03:06 PM

Bob Rawle - Had my car mapped by a certain someone else well known and it ran like a bad of spanners till bob sorted it out,and had to change my turbo because mine had gone and started smoking:mad: but im not getting into that again.

BRDevelopments

Give them a try.

jd5217 09 June 2008 03:24 PM

£950 + VAT then additional £150 for als & launch

nutsaboutscoobies 09 June 2008 05:17 PM
