Which BOV/Dump Valve to run

What make dump valve to run on either a Turbo 2000 or a 95-99 STI? Car would be pretty stock otherwise except for exhaust.

standard recirculating one,as mentioned on previous reply. vent to atmosphere ones sound nice but make your car run worse as the air they vent is meant to be used!

What's the air meant to be used for?

as far as im aware,it goes back to the intake, after the air filter,to be used again. if this air doesnt get "recirculated",the ecu stil thinks it wil be present, and puts the fuel in in accordance with the ecu air to fuel mix.meaning your puttin fuel in that doesnt get burnt, so puttin more fuel than neccessary for the resulting power.(runs rich)

Also from my own personal experience, causes them to run worse in terms of pick up post gear change, not better as advertised.

up to you though.some people find them fine, and they can be mapped in to accomodate the way they behave.
i personally wouldnt have a vent to atmosphere

Always a touchy subject. Personally I wouldn't use one the standard re circ is the best for the job. With a decent panel filter, KN Green etc, you still get a whoosh admittedly not as loud as a DV. If you really must have one go for a good quality one. Keep the standard one and if you experience any problem put it back on, quite simple really.:thumb:
