what a difference a car makes...

i am having to drive a brand new Merc C180 whilst my scoob is broken and i can honestly say that i wouldn't want to do it by choice :nono:

after having a scoob for nearly 5 years and then driving the Merc for a few weeks i have realised how much Merc drivers are disliked.

i have never had to sit at junctions for so long in my life. people would rather rip your bumper off than let you out :cuckoo:

has anyone else found that other road users are different towards you depending on what car you drive?

ScoobyWon't 03 June 2008 04:46 PM

You should try driving a BMW.

Especially one with a bicycle in the back ;)

I would usually explain, but I don't want another infraction ;)

Have a read of some of the BMW & bike related threads from the last couple of days... ;)

i get away with so much driving my own car so it was a big shock to find that so many drivers are a bunch of twunts :D

i am putting mine back on the road. been gathering all the parts i need from around the country, she should be back in a couple of weeks, albeit a bit different than before :thumb:

Never had a problem in any of the dozens of Merc's i've driven. Even in various AMG models i've never seen any bad manners directed towards me.

BMW is a different matter :lol1: Been spat at in an M3

Squarey i have an E class & an ML (both mercedes) ;) & have no issues up, my old BMW 645i that i chopped in for the ML was a different kettle of fish, people do not like BMW drivers at all. :thumb:

sarasquares 03 June 2008 06:01 PM

it must be me then :lol1:

maybe they were extra nice to me in a yello scooby cos they felt sorry for me :D

dunx 03 June 2008 06:45 PM

No one lets me out.....

I just barge in, and let them eat my exhaust fumes !

Wah ha ha ha !

LOL

DunxC

P.S. I sometimes drive a fairly large mini-bus (?) and people tend not to argue the toss in that ! My pal went from a Scooby to a Seat, and is saddened that no-one notices it even tho' it's bright yellow....

Hoppy 03 June 2008 08:34 PM

Just an anecdote, but a friend had a yellow Roller, personal plate an' all. Got spat on a the T-lights. He swapped it for one of his rep's old diesel Passats and he's been very happy since :)

Cars are emotive things. A BMW X5 was a bit pushy with me today, driving like a **** in pi55ing rain (as they do). I let him go. Quite proud of myself now :)

paulwrxboro 03 June 2008 09:14 PM

last car was a range rover, in the fast lane people would just pull over ,now got a bmw cabby ,well it might aswell be made of glass ppl just see ignore it ive evan srarted flashing my lights to get past, never had to do this in any other car iv had

dpb 03 June 2008 10:51 PM

No :thumb:

Leslie 04 June 2008 11:21 AM

When they try to wind you up Sara, just give them a royal wave and smile-that will really irritate them!

Les :)

Maybe it's the way you drive as I haven't had any bad manners directed towards me in my M3. :)
