IWOC the mailling list is still going and is run by Steve Breen.

I'm still on it, as are quite a few other Scoobynetters.

The web-mailing list (details at IWOC) is still very much alive and active I beleive. Think Steve would be a bit miffed to be classed pre-scoobynet or even pre-"sidc bbs" :)

Mr.Manchester 31 January 2002 10:21 PM

stephen emery 31 January 2002 10:27 PM

that long

Miles 31 January 2002 10:49 PM

Think it was September '98.

JohnS 01 February 2002 09:08 AM

I think it was October 98. Checks profile to confirm ;)

alistair 01 February 2002 09:20 AM

A few of us old boys left then ;)

Who remembers pre-scoobynet where ALL responses to ALL threads were forwarded by eMail to ALL members !

Run by Steeve Breen - can't remeber what it was called though.

MATTeL 01 February 2002 09:43 AM

Pete,

I think you might have been one of the first three, JohnS registered 3 days before you. Sorry. ;)

I remember that. Abot 100+ emails in your inbox everyday :D

JohnS 01 February 2002 09:52 AM

I can still remember the very early days, when IWOC consisted of a few digest e-mails put together by Steve Breen, once per day to start with, and then more frequently.

Eventually a proper mailing list was set-up on a server somewhere.

Oops - didn't mean to cause any offence.

I moved off IWOC as the mail volume was too high for my dial up at home and it was getting a bit obvious at work !

barge 01 February 2002 10:27 AM

I use the IWOC very good, number of mails is down to a hand full per day now.

Most of the off topic banter has moved on to another site.

Bit like should happen on this site.

Olly 01 February 2002 10:37 AM

April '99 for me. I think there were around 450 members at the time.

Didn't it used to be called the "Subaru Impreza Drivers Club Bulletin Board"?

firefox 01 February 2002 12:47 PM

I can remember setting up the servers (BBS ones) at Phils house..

That was a while back... things have moved on now...

Oh happy days!

I remember the original IWOC. Mr Breen has a lot to answer for!

ChrisB 01 February 2002 01:52 PM

Ar, the days are being to read every thread...

Rikki 95WRX 01 February 2002 01:52 PM

out of interest....you guys (eg Howard) who registered right near the beginning and still have relatively low post counts - do you not use Scoobynet much anymore or do you read a lot of stuff and post only when there is something worthwhile to say? (I think some others could do with a bit of that - Muppets excluded of course ;) )

Rikki

Lurk and infrequent postings for me.

Markus 01 February 2002 04:30 PM

IWOC, yummy, second home to scoobynet. Both equal in my eyes, though less muppets on IWOC.

could not live without either of them

GRANT 01 February 2002 10:23 PM

Rikki,
I think that I have the lowest posts in relation to the date I first registered.
Sept 1998
And still less than 300 posts.

First IWOC

Second Phil Dawes SIDC Bulletin Board, in the face of opposition from the Old SIDC board" this became Scoobynet. Phil is a man with a vision and a passion at that time Scoobynet was a hobby/self finacing resource.

Third bbs.22B.com to take technical dimension as Scoobynet was being swamped with "Muppets".

Fourth Scoobynet 2 run as a business by Simon De Bank which has gone from strength to strength.
