Time Attack final - Team ESC are in!

Mike has qualified just 3/10ths of a second behind P20SPD, the Lateral Performance sponsored wagon.... Go Mike, keep up the good work and good luck in the final :thumb:

Dynamix is out again with another blown boost hose :( do you remember my suggestion mate :wonder: maybe time to implement it to ensure reliability for the rest of the season, or turn the boost down :)

Michaela 01 June 2008 03:47 PM

Excellent news!
Looks like all the hard work you lot put in this week has paid off!

Decided at around 6pm last night not to run after my tickets and tyres hadn't arrived, thanks Toyo
Order was placed on Wednesday and the assured me I'd have them Friday yet only 3 arrived, I called and was promised the 4th would be with me Saturday. Saturday came and went with no delivery - I wouldn't be so fcukin mad but they sponsor the series and we have to run their tyres ffs. Rang RCMS and a few others but no-one seemed to have my size, no tyre shops had them in stock so called it a day.

Besides nice to spend the day with my family after not seeing them all week :thumb:

Roll on Oulton Park :)

Very important to keep family happy ;)

Mocom Racing 01 June 2008 05:45 PM

Mike Payne (430bhp classic) 106.07 :D
Steven Darley (580bhp classic) 106.2

Congratulations to Terry Buckle (500bhp classic), he finished just infront of Mike and ofcourse a big well done to Kev Horsley (550bhp classic) with a jaw dropping 101.6 - that is Pro class territory!

frayz 01 June 2008 05:51 PM

Awesome results, so pleased for Mike.

Proud to be part of the workings that got him there, also nice to see our engine outrunning some other big power stuff :D

Congratulations Mike, enjoy it!! :thumb:

spally 01 June 2008 05:58 PM

well done mike, where can i find a final placings for today?

cheers

Phil 01 June 2008 06:15 PM

I am still waiting to hear who won the SIDC Award

Best Placed Impreza's in each Class

Mocom Racing 01 June 2008 06:29 PM

Following MLRs lead I feel but promising that the SIDC are finally endorsing a track/performance event rather than the show and shine brigade :)

Spally, results will probably be up on the Time Attack website Tuesday/Wednesday

Club
1st Kev Horsley 101.6
2nd Barry Rycroft (Evo 700bhp) 102.4
3rd Sam Kerr (Performance Subaru Classic 600bhp?) 103.2
4th Kev Atkins (MAD Evo 700bhp) 103.79

10th Terry Buckle
11th Mike Payne
12th Steven Darley

spally 01 June 2008 06:39 PM

cheers zak, sorry to hear about your probs...roll on next round :D

looking at them times, 1) the top fella must have been flying 2) Mike has done very well.

I have had this planned for sometime unfortunatly SIDC is not a profit making business and has to judge the allocation of its funds VERY carefully. Our sponsors do not have unlimited funds. The MLR have full time staff to make this possible ;)

SIDC Has always been track orientated but the interest seemed to wain over the years

I am pleased to say this interest has been relit hence our dedicated days, triple club days and MLR Invite days

Phil 01 June 2008 06:47 PM

and btw nothing wrong with the show and shine brigade ;)

Phil 01 June 2008 07:20 PM

Should have some great pics of SIDC Presentation later :D

Dare I say it but this seemed to coincide with Croney leaving the scene, not saying this was the reason as circuit and management costs changed around the same time but he had an active interest in the track scene - this has been lacking the last few years.

I do hope so, perhaps we could have an SIDC or even ESC sprint :luxhello: and I don't mean along the 127 ;)

Anyways, here's the club results with data taken from TSL Timing.........

Watch this space for some announcements soon :D:D

BRI4N 01 June 2008 08:54 PM

What a great day.:thumb:

A huge well done to Frayz, Zak & Luke for all their efforts which I think were rewarded today with Mike's successful day on track.

Mike was indeed chuffed to bits to make the final and seemed more than pleased with the result, as he should be.

Nice to be able to get into the pits this time, and hilarious to see loads of people thrown off the pit wall for not wearing the correct wristbands, except me and Nick, it seems that the team shirts work on so many levels:lol1:

Off to sort through the few hundred pics I took, will get them posted tomorrow night.

I really enjoyed the day & would like to have seen you there Zak but maybe next time :) I stayed with a few people to see Mike take part in the final as we couldnt get out before 6pm so they said :lol1:

BRI4N & I decided to head off the M1 as it was chocker & was a good call as I reckon I might still be in the queue on the M1

Got there & back on a tank so I was a bit amazed.

Tell me about it, when i came out of that services after a petrol stop it was chocker all the way to the M25!!

As I was no longer with you two and did not know any other way so I just sat there :brickwall

:lol1: :lol1:

pinseeker 01 June 2008 09:48 PM

You seemed to make a last minute turn off into the services & I could'nt follow. BRI4N done the little tunnels well as the flames looked good coming out the back :thumb: Going through the small towns was funny as some people were looking to see where the sounds were coming from & it was BRI4N :lol1:

Milamber 01 June 2008 09:52 PM

A great convoy lead by Bri4n too :thumb:

Milamber 01 June 2008 10:35 PM

Mike had an on-board camera too, hope it caught some of his drifting skills

V4JDMSTi 01 June 2008 11:03 PM

wow superb news. well done mike.

was talking to mike olast friday without much hope of making silverstone. then come home to read this. stunning work guys. credit to the club and yourselves for getting the car ready.

sorry to hear about your tyre probs Zak. you think as they sponsor the event they'd be able to get the right number of tyres to you in time.

good luck all for the next round.

dynamix 02 June 2008 08:02 AM

Zak - suggestion is being implemented - this is really p***ing me off now so time for a total solution as I knew the time was there to be had yesterday. Not quite sure how we will do the 90 deg bend out of the turbo though :? (turning down the boost is never going to be an option :D )

Well done to Mike and Team ESC - they did great !
