Did anyone one go to last motorbike show at the NEC?
If so, can you remember or have any info on the company that was doing the underseat exhausts for the R1s and R6s.
Cheers....JAMES

James - If you want your R1 to look like a Ducati why didn't you buy a Ducati?
The R1 did look quite good with the conversion though...

I havn't got my new bike yet i am currectly choosing between a 748 Ducati and an R6.
But not being one for keeping things standard i'm looking through the options on the modifications for both bikes.

Ronaldo,JC, thanks for the sites, both very good.
Wurzel, yes, that had crossed my mind!
Cheers guys...JAMES

James - I may be being a bit biased here as I used to ride a Ducati 888, but it was a real status symbol, I admit the Italian Bikes are not as fast as the Jap ones but they command more respect and sound great. The R1, R6 and R7 are great bikes, and fast but the sound the 748/996 makes and the respect you get from people when seen on a Ducati is awesome.
But the choice is yours.

i've got a triumph daytona 955i.
again, not cutting edge, but very very good and i feel it is a little bit " different " and cheaper than the lush italian stuff.
try one!!!!!

p.s. jack lilly do excellent underseat exhausts for the triumph.

Wurzel 09 January 2001 09:09 PM

Happy - 100% agree, I have been brought up on Ducati's as my Dad had them and then i had one but, respect the Triumph is a cool machine and i would seriously like a Daytona.
I am not in it for the speed or I would have a Jap bike but I found the Italian/British bikes accelerate (spelling) better than the Jap one's but loose it on top end but I would go IT/GB everytime!!

Steve

Edited due to drunk spelling!!!

James, I've got a blue T reg R6 as well, It's my first 'proper' bike (after various others up to 400 cc), it is the absolute bollox! I've fitted an oval carbon micron and the sound is awesome, particularly above 10,000 rpm and it pops and bangs brilliantly when you throttle off.
Although the duke is a great bike as well, I think the Yam will be more reliable. Mine hasn't missed a beat in 4000 miles.

happy riding !!!!!

Well i've done i guys! I've just purchased an R6.
I couldn't find any decent 748s and i my local dealer made me an offer i couldn't refuse on a 'T' reg R6.
Pick it up tomorrow and i can't wait!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
