esl live mapping bourd

well, i've finally managed to get the funds together for this map bourd thingy.

but has anyone else had this done?

any difference to fuel comsumption at all.
im having scott t at polarperformance do the map as he's advised me all the way so far on this

just want to make sure theres no issues with anything at all...
well, as long as nothing else happens. will be done with in 3 weeks:norty:

dabow 24 May 2008 06:25 PM

anyone done this at all.

Andy Stevens 25 May 2008 09:47 AM

There's 120 of them out there.

dabow 25 May 2008 09:52 AM

there will be another one to add to that soon.

just want to now if theres any issues or anything

Andy Stevens 25 May 2008 10:01 AM

Broken standard gearboxes have been a common theme due to too much torque but you can keep it under 320 lbft if that is a worry and you are on a standard box.

dabow 25 May 2008 10:11 AM

true, i dont even now what bhp the car is now.
should be good to see what it is after this live map boards fitted/mapped

if the box goes, well its had a good life so far.
as long as theres no other issues to do with sencers not working or engine light poping on ect

Andy Stevens 25 May 2008 11:04 AM

If some of your sensors aren't working then you will need to fix them. If your engine light is coming on then read the codes off to see what is at fault.

dabow 25 May 2008 11:21 AM

no no mate, theres nothing wrong with my car at all. no lights ect

+ i rebuilt the enging a year ago. theres even sti pistons in the uk engine
but i read some where that some boards can bring the engine light on. i already have the older esl board in my car...

i just want to make sure its worth sheding out over £600 quid for this live map version

Andy Stevens 25 May 2008 03:34 PM

It works exactly the same as the OEM ECU. We havent programmed it to disco the CEL.

Its possible to have the board installed and mapped for as little as £525 all in.

Get a PFC and sell your ESL board.

dabow 25 May 2008 05:57 PM

pfc?

i have the esl board in my ecu, but i need a custom map as theres a couple of exstra mods done ie front mount ect

it seems to run good now, but i want more psi & running better with this front mount.

so this live map board im looking into should do the trick, as i like every thing running smooth & quiet

sarnyboy 25 May 2008 06:03 PM

do these fit a 1998 uk turbo

dabow 25 May 2008 06:06 PM

no, its for pre 96 cars (early classics four pin type)

imo with this board the PFC (which is hard to get for early cars now) isn't as good.
The esl board allows the use of OEM diagnostic and the standard knock control which the PFC doesn't.

That doesn't include a 97> Map sensor though.....

Only follow that advice if you want to spend more and lose CLKC, diag codes and 3d boost mapping.

True! Interesting deal chap!

dabow 26 May 2008 09:58 AM

i need this map sencer at the same time.
scott t has given a deal i can not refuse.

i'm hoping to get over 320bhp after this.
the clutch should take over 350bhp, the engine has sti pistons. there 440cc on there too.

the td05 should hold that sort of power im after.
its now in the hands of scott t now

Hi,did you get the esl fitted? What were the results?

Thanks,Mit

dabow 13 June 2008 06:51 PM

i had to put it on hold for a while.

my rad went, & the boost started to play up.
the idel speed control valve also started playing up

but the car is just about sorted now.
just need to save the funds again, but i'll be def getting this done.

i'll post up the results
