Nearly time for the 15000/6mths service - shame the car's only one year old and 7600 miles. Never mind. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

I think that this is the 'body inspection' service. So, do I have it done or not?

The bottom line is as the title suggests - is it worth the £100 or so if the Impreza never rusts anyway? I haven't got the book to hand, so can't remember the corrosion warranty period, but I have 6 yrs in the back of my mind

Anyone got a rusty scoob, ever made a corrosion warranty claim, or know anyone who has??

JoeyDeacon 11 January 2001 03:07 PM

Martin,

I think that the body check is a waste of time, how many other cars have to have a body check after only 12 months??

The problem is that scoobs are getting harder to sell by the day and if you want to get top dollar for your car when you come to sell it I would recommend getting it done. If I was looking to buy a scoob I would be much happier buying a car with all the correct service stamps/body checks etc. I know it is 100 odd quid but I think you will get the benefits when it comes to selling time.

I used to have the sales brochure for 1998 or 99 and it said that the Impreza used galvanized body panels. I would assume that this would mean that there is little or no chance of major rust problems. Has the Impreza had galvanized panels since it was first introduced?

Martin I can show you one thats covered in rust and its only 6 months old!

Yeh, but what about an Impreza though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Tell me/us more. I'd almost made my mind up not to do it. But Joey swung me to yes, then Andrew to put me back to no, and now you seem to be a definite yes (ie do it).

I need help here guys, please

Just ask around or search about a bit.

ARRON BIRD 11 January 2001 10:07 PM

Nice one Martin http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif:

DaveD 11 January 2001 10:21 PM

Likewise, I have a MY93 WRX (imported last year) - no rust (ally bonnet helps tho').

Come to think of it, I've never seen a rusty Impreza of any age - has anyone, and if so where do they go first?? There must be at least one or two scrufy cars around now.
