A Budgie is probably the easiest and cheapest way. :D :D

might cost a lot replacing all the dead budgies though.

any other ideas?

no dump valve.. the noise is the compressor stalling etc.. depending on your turbo it may not be wise though

im running a td05/06 20g hybrid
have blanked off the dump valve not really put any boost through it yet though as need to get the autronic mapped.

Maybe once i can get the boost turned up i will get the "chirp" noise ;)

Is this ok to do on the td05/06 20g?

frayz 24 May 2008 09:50 PM

20g will be fine, Mitsi turbos are pretty damn hardy.

You'll need at least 1.6 bar for a proper high pitched chirp :D

j16jrf 24 May 2008 10:08 PM

1.6 bar is prob what the car will be running anyway.

happy days cant wait now lol really love the noise its just gorgeous

as above no dump valve, could damage turbo, break shaft if you get a back fire or something.

20g he is running won't be damaged

back fire is on the exhaust side and make no difference whether running a dv or not.

any damage on a weaker turbo like a vf28 for example would be blades on cold side snapping off or more likely the bearings failing

car is now away getting the antilag sorted out on the autronic ecu and will hopefully be ready on Tuesday so i can be all chirpy and bangy hahaha.

Should go pretty well too ;)
