Equal length manifold question...

Can anybody confirm that equal length exhaust manifolds 'quieten down' the exhaust note? If so will it make a big difference to a blitz nur spec?

Thanks, Dee052.

i have equal lenght on mine and it takes away the scooby burble

ELH on mine too, wouldn't say it changes the volume but as said burble is gone and feels smoother imo..

What cars have you fitted them onto?

Also has it made any performance gains?

I would of thought that losing the burble would make it quieter, especially at idle, thus making it more neighbour friendly. Well hopefully anyway! I'll find out on Saturday.

Proberly an exhause bung might be your awnser....?

I've found that just by going to unequal tubular headers it quietens it down relative to the OE cast ones. The tubular one are 'less' unequal than OE so the gas pulses are a bit further apart. Equal length should be better.

I would have thought that overall volume is similar, but peak volume reduced, IYSWIM, so more neighbour freindly.

Thanks for the opinions guys, i've got a ported cast manifold and a bung in at present. I think its still a bit intrusive, the rumble resonates around the cul-de-sac, even on tickover, hopefully fitting these will help.
