N95 8GB

Just got this phone, changed the phone code and flashed away all the Orange crap and its so far an excellent phone !

I've also installed the auto tilt which is quite cool !!

Only thing I would have changed would be adding a cover for the camera .. I can see that getting scratched .. but other than that .. I'm impressed so far :notworthy

I have the normal N95 and the camera cover is a PITA as it easily slides open when pushing it into or pulling it out of pockets and it then activates the camera draining the battery like a V8 does with petrol. I wish mine did not have the cover.

Only drawback I could see with the 8Gb model was the memory is capped and cannot be upgraded further, a minor thing but a much better version of the N95 overall.

I've had my N95 since July last year, it goes in my pocket every day, and I've not opened the camera by accident once. Do you have particularly tight pockets or something? ;)

Just got my N95 8gb yesterday - im also impressed with features only problem is like you say the camera lens is always out, also its not as loud ringtone and headphone wise as my N73 :(

also when you upload your MP3`s it puts them all together I want them in separate folders so I can pick the decent songs rather then messing about making playlists etc im looking for a 3rd party app to be able to do that the sat nav is cool

I use a 'classic phone' as a ringtone on mine. Much louder.

Dont know what phone you have but...

The N95 8GB has two lens covers. neither can be opened manually or by accident..

The first is the glass cover which is fixed in place and cannot be opened or closed.

The second is a cover in front of the zeiss lens, which slides open when the camera is turned on,

(now you,ll all go away and try it :))

with regard to the rign tones, just run your preffered tone through (i think its audacity)

and add some +DB this makes the tone nice and loud

lol your right it does... but the glass screen is gonna get scratched which will stop it being any use as a camera.. least with a manual cover you could keep it clean and free from **** :Suspiciou

Is that something you download and install? If so, where did you get it from?

scoobyverysoon 23 May 2008 09:05 AM

insdalled the dix x player its cool - im trying to find full screen caller as a free download

I still need to find a way to make the phone keep MP3`s in album order and not split them all up

(slide the phone down to enable landscape mode)

if you get certificate expired or whatever expired, try turning the date on the phone back a year, so it will be 25/5/2007. Then install app and then put the date back to normal.

Worked for nearly all my apps on my N95:thumb:
