Alienware + commodore

i forgot to mention this last week

following the exclusive news that pcw is selling dell a few months ago.

we will be getting commodore gaming systems (oh memories of the commodore 64)
Commodore Gaming: High Performance PCs

and alienware laptops and desktops

you heard this here first :p

They were advertised in Edge this month.

My first thought was "oh, pretty cool"

My second was "How much?!?!?!?"

My third was "They can **** right off"

Wouldn't touch Alienware laptops / desktops with a very long barge pole. Had two of the things, and they were both terrible in both build quality and reliability. Expensive too :(

Actually, it wasn't Commodore Gaming that went bust (and was reverted) it was Commodore International Corporation, a completely different company...

Noooooooo, tis true. Just checked the web site.

"If a sale of the business cannot be achieved, we understand from the Directors that Rock maintained an insurance policy to cover the extended period of the warranty (years two and three following purchase). We are currently liaising with the insurers to confirm the cover provided by this policy and to confirm the alternative arrangements they would provide in the event that a sale of the business cannot be achieved."
