Has anyone with experience of the wrx+ppp also tried the STi?
Obviously the sti has better handling/brakes/ratios etc but does it feel that much stronger in a straight line?

Well dont know too much about this pairing but I had a my00 ppp and canged it for a P1 late last year.
PPP had more driveable low0down torque. P1 just a LOT quicker in real terms. P1 much wider powerband. Both nice cars but I could never go back to th ppp now.

autocar  said that only 20% of the original STi engine remains in the new one. Is that true for the WRX?

DrEvil 30 January 2002 09:03 AM

The '01 STi engine is 80% different to the '01 WRX
If you are in the market to buy now, drive both, the PPP in real terms does not give the impression of as much all out grunt as the '01 STi gives.
