Lunchtime Drinking ?

Normally I never do it, don't have the time, but this week I am off, got up, took the lads to school, went to the builders merchants, replaced cracked drainpipe, excavated flower bed to fit edging strip, trimmed several large and spiky plants, cleaned kitchen, cleaned living room lights, swept patio etc

So, made my lunch, normally I have water but I though f*ck it and had a can of Stella, then another and I feel damn good !

J4CKO, sat at the top of a slippery slope !

Do you lot drink at lunchtime ?

fivetide 06 May 2008 02:33 PM

Nope. Well very rarely. Lunchtime drinking is like drinking double. That's why you feel like you've had four cans not two!

5t.

sti-04!! 06 May 2008 02:34 PM

Keep them flowing Jacko ;)

Lee247 06 May 2008 02:34 PM

If I drank two cans of Stella at lunchtime, I'd be asleep by now :D

jimmyv 06 May 2008 02:35 PM

depends, but on a day like this if your not working it seems rude not to have a couple, that said i cannot do it at work, if we ever go out for a pint at lunch i just wanna crawl under the desk and go to sleep when we get back to the office however, not so at weekends and days off :freak3:

New_scooby_04 06 May 2008 02:38 PM

I say, sun is shining, a few people on SN, I make that Pimms O Clock! :)

Lisawrx 06 May 2008 02:46 PM

I can drink a fair bit, but only on a night. For some reason I just can't do it through the day. If I could I'd have one now, sitting sunning myself in the garden.

AshMurc 06 May 2008 02:47 PM

Occasionally. But i normally have to write off a load of things i might want to do like drive somewhere, do a work out, etc. If i am going to drink around lunch time i prefare to go out and have a pub lunch and few games of pool... only problem is if you have about 4 pints so you start feeling a bit "waaay...:D" then just go home might start feeling a bit weird, like not a hangover but a bit dodgy and start getting bored as the alcohol wares off...

for me its a case of couple beers then call it an afternoon, or if you go a bit far (90% of the time) hope some of your mates will come out too... but if they can't make it till 7pm, they might have 6hrs worth of catching up to do!

davegtt 06 May 2008 02:51 PM

Im a day time drinker, think that has something to do with the socialist in me. I prefer to sit and chill with a beer and chat to friends. Night drinking is for groups who are basically out to either dance or go on the pull.

If Im not at work Id be having a beer, especially in this summer sun

David Lock 06 May 2008 03:21 PM

It's drinking at breakfast when you need to start worrying :D

And no I don't.

Well there was that Rugby Tour back in......... Bacon & Eggs and Bullshots IIRC :)

New_scooby_04 06 May 2008 03:23 PM

I have a mate who frequently downs a few pints at lunchtime.

StickyMicky 06 May 2008 08:33 PM

if we have no valets booked in at work, i will go in for 8am, then the second man comes in at 10.30am, nothing really to do except run the carwash (not even that if its raining) , so i will leave to it, come home, and have been known to be slaughtered by 11am quite a few times

i think its made worse because i buy all my drink in bulk from a local cash and carry, so we always have various crates of wine/beers/ciders kicking about :norty:
