Boris begins the cull...

"Twelve key advisers, who make representations to the mayor on policy areas such as race, policing, housing and economic development, are believed to be first in the line of fire.

Mr Johnson will address staff tomorrow morning and the Tory team has not ruled out further redundancies."

Boris Johnson makes an early start as Mayor in tackling crime - Times Online

Go for it Boris. Kick out all those worthless socialists who have had their snouts in the trough in County Hall for all those years at the taxpayers' expense.

This is, of course what is required throughout the civil service and public sector. The Billions that could be saved if the Nu Labour machine was dismantled in this way would be staggering.

It will indeed be interesting to see the staffing levels and wages, vs the job they achieve.

PeteBrant 05 May 2008 05:49 PM

He isn't reducing staffing levels is he?. Reads to me that he is getting rid of advisors that were politically attached to Livingstone, and replacing them with people of his own choosing.

Go for it on crime Boris! - funding 4000 cspo's (or whatever the hell they are called) to cut down on anti-social youth behaiour - instant removal of rights to travel for offenders, good move :)
funding cspo's through cutting advertising budgets - good move!:)
Maybe banning consumption of alcohol on buses/tubes - good move!

about bloody time someone took crime, antisocial behaviour seriously and did something!

Ideal maybe he can show labour how it should be done and embarrass them into following suit. :thumb:

This is an eye opening statement you've just made. (as in it totally changed my point of view)

So firstly - thanks (genuinely!) :thumb:

What I wonder now is: Are the tories going to use London as a microcosm of what they can achieve for the Country if they were voted into power?

Hells teeth - all they would have to do at the election is say: We aren't making things up - look at what has been achieved in London.

Interesting....

Yea but Nu Labour ministers keep on telling everyone that he's a joke. Well, we'll see about that won't we? I think it will be Jaqui Smith, Harman, Blears, Kelly, Cooper etc... who will end up looking like the incompetent fools - (not that they don't already to my eyes).

I don't know if Boris will replace staff like for like. I doubt it. I believe there will be found to be so much dead wood and hangers on that staffing levels among the upper 'managerial' tiers will be reduced substantially.

Lets see Boris's acrtions speak for themselves, he is off to a good start.

I am suprised NL are speaking out about hime, their recnt form, noi fact the last ten years has not exaclty been without its jokers

Blunkett couldn't keep it in his pants
Fatty two shags fighting, farting, womanising and puking - sounds like the making of a Tom Sharpe novel to me.
Blair the liar
Gutless Grdon Brown the incompetant, the list goes on.

Immigration figures - WRONG
10% tax removed from the people who nee it most - WRONG

lot of NL voted out of local elections beciase they are not fit for purpose.

If i was onr of Browns lackies i would be keeping quiet about the opposition until they have something good to shout about.

Go Boris, prove red ken and the nl dimwits wrong and show them up for the bullsh1t merchants they are.

Maybe Millibland will step up and show them the way home;)
