What do you reckon Snazy?

Went under the needle for a couple of hours today and had my new baby's name done. I thought it would hurt like hell on the collar bone but Rob (the tattooist) has some new guns that run off air rather than the old style electric job's. He reckons 50% less pain and 50% quicker healing. Not having any colour just black and grey shading.

Another 2 hours should see it finished. Yours is looking good fella, just need to get some colour in it :thumb:

That style lettering looks great.

Looks like your head is attached to you collar bone by some elastic, is this something new that they are testing whilst doing tats now?

T5OLF 03 May 2008 08:30 PM

Funny guy :lol1: I have a weak neck from the G's the scoob pulls around bends, the cord keeps it upright....well in one direction anyway.

C17RPA 03 May 2008 08:32 PM

looks good so far mate:thumb: you wait till he colours it in  nnaaahhhhhhhhhhh your be ok :D

T5OLF 03 May 2008 08:41 PM

Pain was no were near as bad as I thought, he is shading with grey so should be ok pain wise. The new guns make a big difference. The ones under my arms hurt much more. Booked in for the 13 of June as he is fully booked till then.

T5OLF 03 May 2008 08:50 PM

Sounds like a plan Andy, try calling into a few places and see if they would be interested in your work.

Pete after 3 years I have seen the light and added you to my blocked users.....you really are a sad little pr!ck with no life.

Snazy 03 May 2008 08:53 PM

Leg is feck all pain really, probably the least sensitive place I have had done yet. :)
Can take a few hours without any big fuss :)

Hence planning the other side now.

I will indeed keep the pics coming, but its ok I have Pete under control :D

If it hadnt have been for cotton eye joe, I'd be married a long time ago... Serious redneck material above!!

I gather you got the name of your kid just in case you forget it, in which case, based on the chosen location of this disfigurement, should you not have had it done in reverse so you can read it in the mirror???

The mind boggles...

Not agreeing with someones choices is one thing, but to just be offensive about it. Im not sure if that rude, ignorant, or as you suggest, insecure.

If you dont like tattoo's thats your choice, but all this "judging" people is somewhat uncalled for.

David Beckham, a truely insecure scummy inbred im sure. As for the Maori, again, what an insecure bunch.

Lisawrx 04 May 2008 03:01 PM

Generally a tattoo is a personal thing. A name of a loved one would be a tribute to them, deeply personal, and I think it's kind of admirable, to love one so much (especially a child), that one would tattoo their name on their own body. To say is it in case you forget the name, is being a tad silly. Just my opinion though.

So parents who don't get their children's names scrawled on their bodies don't love them as much?
IMHO the money would be better spent investing in their future & education.

Where did I say that? I simply tried to give, what I thought was a reasonable explanation as to why people would do this, obviously someone who isn't into tattoos, isn't going to get one, I never claimed that means the love for another is less. If a person doesn't agree with tattoos, that's fine, I wouldn't go out and insult them for that, just as much as those who don't understand the reasons people get them, or for that matter think they are horid, are entitled to that view, but it doesn't have to be put across in an offensive manner.

pslewis 04 May 2008 03:49 PM

The debate over tattoos will rage for ever.

Is most of the pleasure derived from choosing what to have done rather than the wearing of it?

I'm genuinely interested, as something I chose to wear 5 years ago I would not wear today (not because I'm fatter either!) - but because I have moved on ........... I do wonder what happens when you get 'tired' of something so permanent?

Maybe roses on a mans chest will not be seen as acceptable, cool, or fashionable in 5 years time? Just a thought.

Daz34 04 May 2008 04:21 PM

Ok so 'scrawled' was a bit strong ;)

I'm not against tattoos on the whole (definatley against them on the hole though!) I just don't get the whole name thing.

I approve :D

Snazy 04 May 2008 05:58 PM

lol @ the photoshop.

Pete, ok I will be serious for a moment, there is "something" about the experience of having it done, certainly for me. Might be something to do with the addiction. Maybe.

As for what people do to show respect and love to family and loved ones. While it costs money, the same could be said about other spending of others.

OK, I will be serious too .... and ask ....

If there was a way to have the same tattoo, but it not be permanent (maybe lasting about 5 years and then fading to nothing), would that appeal to you more than the 'one shot' offerings?

I was wondering whether the tattoo could be done at a depth which would fade as the skin replaced itself?

It a genuine thought of mine.

sorry to butt in.

yes pete, there are tattoos you can get which last approximately 2-5 years. not too knowledgeable on them, but i know of their existance and they are quite popular. a downside is they tend the smudge and look worse far quicker than a conventional permanent tattoo.
