ADVICE NEEDED-Sti Type R V3--->

Hi guys and gals

I have a freind who has just got himself a totally standard Sti Type R V3

i think its like 280 odd bhp

he want more! of course he does, they always do! haha!
right!

more power needed, what the checks he should do? i heard something about getting a Knocklink?
also what boost can the standard tubby handle and whats that in power (roughly)

what power can he run Safely?

and then whats the next upgrades? fmic? tubby? de cat.. but how much will the standard internals handle?

thanks

and sorry there are so many questions!

Its not about sorting it out.

Isnt there somewhere like the first 10 things to do or something?

also just some advice really, what pressure can we run, what bhp can we expect on standrad tubby/internals etc.

The standard VF23 turbo will give you about 330bhp, at which point your are on the limit of the turbo and injectors. I would no run the turbo at more than 1.4 bar as above this the compressor wheel is known to fail.

The engine internals can be pushed to around 380/400 bhp depending on the condition of the engine but the gearbox ath this point depending on your driving could go at any time.

The mods I did to my sti 3 when i first got the car was, full decat, panel filter, up pipe, ported headers, fuel pump and apexi ecu with a remap.

Have a almost similar setup with banny except for the pump n ported header but running a fmic. goes well than stock but i want reliability so its setup running 1 bar only
