Mine's Z4 ecu

Had a look at similar thread but did'nt want to hijack that thread;) . Is the Mine's Z4 ecu not that good then? Considering buying one but don't want to make a mistake. I've got full de-cat and fmic on MY94 WRX import ( TD05 ). I was thinking of getting a Polar Performance chip ( Scott T ) to put in my original ecu instead? :thumb:

Cheers Paul.

Mines ecus are good but as they are mapped for use in japan (fuel, fuelling and are mapped very aggressively etc) and you can't get customer support without sending the ecu back to japan there are a lot better solutions that can be had in this country.

Scott T has sold a fair few of they generic map chips (some people like them some don't).
The ESL live mapping board (www.enduringsolutions.com)that he can provide i think would be more useful in your case as you've got a fmic.

BUt it depends what you want from your car (how much power etc)

Mines are very aggressive and I know of one guy that done 2 engines on a Mines ECU. He then swapped to a chipped ECU.

If you have a FMIC you may aswell think about a live map and larger injectors and map it up to 1.35bar.
On a standard car he FMIC does improve the charge temps slightly, but is more cosmetic then anything, until you start to run more then 1.1bar.
