With search down, I'm gonna have to ask this one.....

... sidelight bulbs, which type should I be after ? W5W, T4W or H6W ?

Oh, any any tips on how to fit the sidelights in a MY94 STI ? Access, points to watch etc etc .. would be v. useful.

Many thanks :D

No-one .... ? :(

They are W4W on my MY99 UK.

I should know - in 6 months of ownership I've got through 3 sidelamp bulbs and two rear numberplate bulbs (also W4W).

They are W5W!

W5W.

Undo the screw then pull the sidelight unit out forwards very hard. Passenger side will be a piece of p1ss, but driver's side will be a real pain until you prise it far enough out to fit your finger between the sidelight unit and the headlight. Then if you lever it enough there'll be a big 'POP' and it will come out.

Doh, was a typo, honest!

Thanks guys !

Carl - Sounds like its a bit 'violent' to take them out : is there anything I should be aware when putting them back in ? I assume an equal amount of brute force will be required....

No, they're easy to put back. It's just the way the clips are that hold them in. If you do passenger side first you'll see how it's held in, and that will tell you where to pull the other one. It's a pity the search is down, as I found some excellent instructions on here.

i changed my sidelight bulbs last night, the drivers side unit was a b1tch to get out, but the passenger side just dropped out when the screw was undone.
