0-60mph,1/4mile times for 2lt Md321h subis

Hi everyone i would like to find out what are some 0-60mph,1/4mile times for 2lt subis with the md321h turbo. Additionally i want to find whats the highest hp that has been recorded from a 2lt Md321h turbo setup and how well would they do against a 2008 M3 in your estimation. :)

Too many variables to answer

Tris-seriesmcrae 14 April 2008 10:34 AM

I did quarter mile sprints with a slight s bend over the weekend in my classic 2ltr turbo, my fastest was 13.84 seconds and a 64ft time of 2.30 seconds.

My old e36 m3 evo could do the same sprint in 13.64 so there is nothing in it really.......

Any chance of more details of your motor please? Mods ect. Cracking time :notworthy

Tris-seriesmcrae 14 April 2008 11:22 AM

The car is pretty standard i think! i only bought it a week ago!:D

All i can see is a back box, air filter and a dump valve........

It was not without sacrifice though! my launches were aggressive so they wrecked my clutch and when i drove the car the following morning i had a suspiciouse engine rattle mutch like no 3 big end bearing!:(

It was fun though! onwards and upwards!:D

jd5217 14 April 2008 01:50 PM

did an 1/8 mile drag at weekend 7.77seconds was my best.

Mus 14 April 2008 03:49 PM

uve got to be more specific in regards to which car model mods?

i got the md321h on my 2005 sti, also had ported headers, up-pipe, hyperflow monster, 650cc injectors, caik, bov, 3" full system de-cat, autronics ecu and re-mapped at the clinic, not sure on 0-60 times but at a guess i'd say around 3.8 secs, and im not sure how i'd get on against the new m3, but got a rolling road print out of 420bhp and 380lbs of torque which is plenty for me

Its Nigel 14 April 2008 06:11 PM

Last year in a V4 type r with standard internals running 370 bhp on standard 440 injectors i did 12.35 1/4 at scooby shootout. as for highest bhp how far do you want to push it on standard internals? i had ported header's, fmic, fuel pump and regulater, 3'' exhaust system gems ecu etc

IRC450STI 14 April 2008 08:54 PM

I had the md321H last year at shootout running 383BHP at the time with ppg box with lots of other mods etc....1/4 mile time was 12.0 & 0-60ft time of 1.9 exellent turbo :thumb:

mshill 14 April 2008 10:20 PM

Got a mate with a bugeye; 321H, supporting mods and fuel additives, he running 450bhp/400lbtorque. On a standard engine.
best 1/4 mile time of 12.2

sunnyrex 15 April 2008 05:00 AM

thanks mates, a quarter mile of 12.0-12.3 seems to be in the region of what a 2008 M3 (12.4 i think) but after the quarter mile it would be interesting to see if the subi could stay with it, because M3s have a vicious top-end power. The subi i am envisioning would be 2005 spec c 2L with a 321h, APS Fmic, APS CAI, Milltek turboback exhaust, water alcohol injection, okada projects coil pack, and AST 3 way suspension. i wonder how much hp and tq this combination would give? Do you think it could hit 11.99?

banny sti 15 April 2008 08:58 AM

I have a GT30 hybrid that is similar to a MD321T and here are figures for my car (taken from lets torque bhp):

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 440
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1275
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 350.64
0 - 60 (Secs) : 3.23
0 - 100 (Secs) : 8.07
60 - 100 (Secs) : 4.84
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.79
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 120.89
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.39
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 125.08

Is this on a EJ20???
What hybrid is your GT30 and does it take place in the stock mounting location or is it rotated?

banny sti 15 April 2008 09:41 AM

View my scooby for full spec list and yes it is on a EJ20 engine. It is a GT30 hybrid that fits in the stock location.

Doesn't quite work out like that in reality. You won't know what your time will be until you take it to the strip - it could be a long way off that calculation...

My UK Classic with a td05-16g (340bhp) did the 1/4mile in 11.7s@119mph.

banny sti 15 April 2008 11:54 AM

For me the most important figure is the 60-100 time and that is something I can replicate no problem.

Banny

Mus 15 April 2008 01:46 PM

the weight the spec, the wheel size, tyre pressure weather they all play big factors and most of all the driver.r4lly did a quater mile in 12 seconds flat in a version 3 ra and the car was missfiring with an 18 g .so all the above can have a massive affect on the time.

That sounds like a lot from a 321H! I didn't think that you get that much unless you used a 321T or similar.

Danny Boy 15 April 2008 05:46 PM

As Bob's says alot of things can influence the 1/4 mile time, my uk classic with an MD304 and still on an Sti5 TMIC has run a 12.29, circa 340ish bhp too (Estimate).
I would be expecting a mid to high 11 from a MD321H on my car with a FMIC and proper supporting mods

Thats interesting,i have an MD304 on my P1 + fmic and running on 10% methanol and octane booster ,but only on standard 440cc injectors running at 100% cd most the time  not sure what the power is ?,cant wait to see what 1/4 mile time i can acheive now :norty: :wonder:

higgy :-) 15 April 2008 08:20 PM

12.272 on 1/2mile

with a gt30 and some mods to suit.

Higgy

scoobyDAZZA 15 April 2008 08:28 PM

12.272 - 1/2 mile
damn that's quick

or did you mean 1/4 :D

back to the original question , mate of mine runs low 12s in his v4 type R on his MD321H . 410BHP , forged 2 litre.

:wonder: How did you get that with just 340bhp unless im mistaken for that kind of time you should be putting out 400+ but then i could be wrong, what is your torque :wonder: either that or im just crap at drag racing :lol1: MD321H is a 400BHP turbo i think & the 321T is about 460ishbhp :wonder:

ScoobyDoo69 15 April 2008 09:52 PM

If I can get a 13.2 out of a lardy newage WRX with just an exhaust, no remap etc. I'd hope that a 400+ bhp car could do it in at least a second faster!!

cookstar 15 April 2008 09:56 PM

I have a built 2.0 with a MD321T and have been told by the mapper that 440 should be easily achievable, not sure what torque figure though.
