Shoot the *******s... and shoot to kill: South African minister tells police to show criminals no mercy | the Daily Mail

"You must kill the *******s if they threaten you or the community. You must not worry about the regulations - that is my responsibility. Your responsibility is to serve and protect..... I want no warning shots...... You have one shot and it must be a kill shot..... Criminals are hell-bent on undermining the law and they must now be dealt with..... End of story..... There are to be no negotiations with criminals."
I kind of like her approach :)

Good for her!! The criminals there are violent, evil, and deadly, and as they dont value others lives, why should any be placed on theirs..

Having spent a number of years in South Africa a short while ago it's exactly what is needed, make the crims fear the law and realise that if they try to take someones life, they pay with their own.

Good thing she got a standing ovation too, only people who have lived there will appreciate the comments, though no doubt a bunch of outraged holier than thou's will be on her shortly to give their 10p, despite having never been or lived there.

Edit: my mistake, now I sound holier than thou and preachy cause everyone seems to be agreeing with her!! Oh well...

Could we make her our Home Secretary?
That would be brilliant!

As is evident, South Africa has a terrible problem with all kinds of crime. I can understand her approach, it has to be stopped somehow and she means of course the really bad ones who will kill without any restraint at all. The only way when it has got this bad is a real threat of the ultimate punishment in such cases.

The one possible problem is that the police may go over the top and shoot anyone regardless. Something like the attitude of those who shot that innocent man on the underground train. They were out to shoot him come what may! The way it was done is pretty revealing in that case.

If only !!!

She wouldn't stand a chance here. Between the PC brigade and the current Government, criminal here have more rights than their victims.
