I ordered:
.....a crappy Shimano Acera rear derailleur for the daily hybrid workhorse @ £14.24 They sent: .....a Shimano XT mega 9 shadow @ £44.99 charged me for the cheap one :) Do nicely for the MTB thanks Wiggle :thumb: Just thought I'd share that :) |

Is that not £99.99 (£89.99 wiggle price?) Nice (but you are a nutter) ;) |
That's a lot of money down the pan when it gets ripped off by a rock ;)

That's a lot of money down the pan when it gets ripped off by a rock That's just what I was thinking, although the shadow is located in a 'bit' of a safer location |
It's designed to sit right under the chainstay, shimano already thought of that one, ive never heard of anyone smacking one yet.
This is what it looks like on a similar bike. Photo of Me! at None |
Very nice but far too clean ;)
7 weeks to go Chris, do I need to pack a bungee cord? :D |
Nah, I'll be stomping along as I won't have any brakes...

Just order your new pads from Wiggle Chris
They'll probably send you a new bike and charge you just for the pads :lol1: |
Strewth mate!
You need to let go and not fight gravity! ;) Plenty time for more map analysis, and ditching the sodding canoe! :thumb::D |
That was only after two rides - Clywds mud-fest and a Peaks hail/snow/grit/mud/water special :D

as some of you lot seem to be in the know regarding MTBs, does anyone have any suggestions for what I should get for £300ish and also, is it worth spending a little more to get a bike with disc brakes? I have been looking at some specialized hardrocks but just need some help in the right direction :)
I'd be using the bike for commuting to work during the week and then light trekking through local woodland at the weekend |
