wow,thats a good price!!
I wonder if it will knock the ps2 to 2nd place:(
But there has been many consoles that have bombed,3d0,atari jaguar etcetc.
Is that when the ps2 goes to £130??
I'll stick with my ps2 for a good while yet:)

DazV 27 January 2002 06:37 PM

I'm just gonna get both - can't resist Mario and Zelda!

Robertio 27 January 2002 06:42 PM

That does look like a good price :)

Time to start collecting those coppers, and waiting 4,000years for the next Zelda game ;)

I have had my Cube for going on 3 months now and I can highly recommend it

Dizzy 28 January 2002 08:25 AM

The reason the PS1 lasted as long as it did (when there were better consoles outthere) was because of the games...
the PS1 & 2 are aimed more at us (over 18) ppl whereas the Gamecube and others deffinatly seem to be marketed more at kids..

Havn't seen one Gamecube game I want to play yet.. however Halo (XBox) looks quite good... I'll probably wait for that on the pc though :)

Hey well I take it I must be a big 25 year old kid then, Star Wars rogue squadron leader 2 is one of the best games I have played on any system at the moment

DazV 28 January 2002 12:07 PM

I think GameCube will be a big success because:

1. Nintendo are writing the games
2. Rare are writing the games
3. The system is supposed to be perfect to develope for
4. Its as powerful if not more than PS2

I'll hav e one, but not yet - I'm waiting ror a game to come out that FORCES me to buy it - Rogue Squadron isn't that game for me.

Daz,

How about Resident Evil out in March in the US and that looks really good !!!

DazV 28 January 2002 12:36 PM

Wah, definitely - I think it WILL be a cracking game - but I've solved ALL of the Resident Evil games and if its the one I'm thinking of, I don't see myself buying one I've completed already. It'll be a great game for someone who hasn't played it though.

I really fancy a good look at Pikmin from Miyamoto - anything by that bloke needs a closer look.

I'll wait til Zelda or Mario or something from Rare.

Its good to see that Nintendo aren't ripping Europe off with a stupid price like Microsoft. Just goes to prove that all this talk about distribution costs etc is completely crap! Yes Europe maybe slightly higher but an asking price of £300 for the XBOX when Japan/US is near the £180-200 mark really annoys me!

Might just buy a cube now for Nintendo support!

rr
PS, anyone want a UK cube for £130 when it comes out... will never play the thing :)

RB170 28 January 2002 06:37 PM

I'll get one and an XBOX. Why restrict yourself to one console :D

Mike

DazV 28 January 2002 06:57 PM

Mike, agree - I buy whatver platform has the games for it, but I've been biased against X-Box from the start. I honestly think its games portfolio will be filled with mediocre crap with nice graphics, all written by the crappy PC fraternity.

Am I the only one that thinks Halo looks crap ? I'm not a fan of Quake or Unreal either - wonder if thats coincedence ?
