I've decided to have a scooby

Hi all,

Newbie to the forum here. Currently the owner of a beemer X5 and im sick to death of it. It is the worst car i have ever owned.

So,

I have been looking and found a couple of corkers on this sites private sales link.

I'll keep you posted but i have been reading the posts so i hope to be showing you soon...

what you thinking of getting ???

dooby scoo 07 April 2008 07:34 PM

I don't know loads about them but i was going for an Evo 8 but it has always been the Impreza that floated my boat so im going for a 2003 STI hopefully in black or silver.

Ive made some enquiries in the for sale area of this forum and hopefully will be doing a deal very soon.

STi, good choice mate, can't go wrong with the car

dooby scoo 07 April 2008 07:53 PM

Cheers mate,

Any advice on what i should be looking for?

The one i am looking at is an absolute bute. 350 BHP in silver and looks lovely

Get one with PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack) and get proof of this with a certificate. If like the silver one it's been modified then make sure there are receipts etc to back up the claims.

They are cracking cars otherwise, just the usual checks like history, look for accident damage etc.

Subaru : WRX STI TYPE UK WITH OPTIONAL TSL 333 PACK

Don't listen to those who tell you to go PPP. All you get is a sudden rush of boost which does not equate to a driveable car. Also, if you are looking at a 2003, the warranty will have expired anyway. Have a look at mine above - flying machine, immaculate and loads of fun.........for not much money. I am in Glasgow if you are interested.

Buying from a Dealer gets a full Proven Warranty for an extra twelve months, even on older cars.

Thanks for the replies guys. Given some things to think about...

Mine is a black 03 sti ppp - see my pics :)

Very nice car, whatever anyone says, Scoobys are up there with Evo's, plus for the money you'll get a better spec'd Subaru than an Evo, plus slightly less running costs.

Ive seen a few nice examples around, for around 11k-13k you'll get a cracking one.

pmsl...why is that mate? Is it because you have a car for sale by any chance :Whatever_

Ive read your for sale pitch, and tbh, whilst TSL are a 1st class company, a sti ppp can easily be brought upto what perofrmance you have for around £600

Ive also read the stats in your piston ads pitch, they are exactley the same for the sti ppp, and yours is 25-30bhp more :wonder:

Fair enough, your trying to sell a car, but your really starting to ram it down ppl's throats, if its as good as it says, it'll sell.

And as for the sti ppp not being driveable car???? wtf...leave it out mate.

I have a STI PPP with ECUTEK and straight through centre section. TSL quoted me £350 to upgrade to the TSL 333 pack.

I don't suspect the difference would be much between the two. When my car was remapped, it just made things a bit smoother and (marginally) quicker.

Can't blame the guy for the sales pitch, but it's certainly making a mountain of out of a molehill

Well all i know is that the X5 is a gonna.

It is an absolute joke, never had so many problems with a car.

Bring on the scooby

MY ADVICE WOULD BE BUY A GREY ONE (NOT SO COMMON:lol1: :lol1: )AND SECONDLY BUY A STANDARD ONE FROM A DEALER .IF YOU WANT IT TO GO FASTER ALLOW IN YOUR BUDGET FOR YOUR OWN MODS (PEACE OF MIND ) :) :thumb:
