Have OEMS never heard of KISS

As in Keep It Simple, Stupid

I want to transfer some files via bluetooth, from my phone to my PC

easy yes?

no not in a million years :(

i used to have a bluetooth dongle, it was a piece of p*ss to use, turn on, highlight files and transfer.

A walk in the park.

Now i've replaced it with the most willy waving, lardy, pointless piece if junk, which purports to be a bluetooth adaptor

Why oh why do oem,s think that putting every bloody feature under the sun will make there unit the best, when all it does is p*ss the end user off to the point where a hammer springs to mind?

All i want to do is transfer some files. I dont want an A serial port, a B serial port, a virtual modem, a modem, a headset protocol, a fax protocol, a virtual information server. All of which insist on running before i can even attempt to get the bluetooth on the phone working.

And god forbid if one of them isnt compatible, it near on slows the sytem to a halt, while it insists on running a squillion diagnostics. AAARRRRGHG :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall

ALL i want to do is transfer some files FFS

If it can find the ferkin phone to & assign a passcode, why the ferk does it then say the phone isnt attached when i want to send files .3 of a second later

god i,m really p*ssed of with the thing now :(:(

you don't have a data / charge cable via USB then?

Rather than muck about I just plug mine in and treat it as another removeable drive

same as kieran
piece of cake that way

I have 2 cables, but as luck wouls have it i couldnt find either

normally prefer it that way,

however some oems (yes S*NY!!!!) did the non kiss route, and took the bullet proof K750i interface and brought in some god awfull thing on the K800i making the phone hard reset everytime you wanted to use it to transfer files.

what are some of there R&D guys on FFS

Take the memory card out and use a USB card reader.
