Harewood Hillclimb
Well a few of us from our club humberjapcars went along to the Harewood hillclimb driving school on thursday:) Some of us plan on compeating this year so going on this course seemed the best thing to do.Well what a fantastic day we had.The things i came away with like the way my scoob handles and its limits which i tested to its fullest(by going off into one gravel trap):norty:
So here are two pics (more to come)and a vid. Hope you like:D Going into the esses http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...FilfyRear1.jpg farmhouse bend http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ilfyHouse1.jpg A vid ov all from our club who took part:) YouTube - Humber Jap Cars at Harewood Nearly see a full run of the course Video of Filfy Harewood Lap - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting The sound of my anti lag. Looks like you guys had fun, what kind of things do they teach you on the day and what dccd setting did you have your car on? ;)
|
They don't teach you any driving skill as such, just the best line to take. And believe me on nearly all the corners the turning point is very late, you just have to bully your car to were you want it to go and have faith that it will pull you through:D
No DCCD settings for me as its a wrx ra not sti.roof scoop was added by previous owner;) |
Here is my little trip into the gravel:lol1:

Nice pics mate, hillclimbing is addictive be careful.
Car looks good and good to see you getting stuck in! |
Such a nice car, great to see it put to some proper use.
Love it :thumb: |
I'm gonna give this a go I think, filled out the application form so will hopefully try it later in the year or next year.
The Prodrive day in Warrick I went to was good, the tarmarc rally stage they teach you how to hit the apexes and yeah I know what you mean, your told to take the car right out before cutting into the apex so your brain is going "wtf?!" ;) |
Thanks for the comments guys:)
Totally hooked on this now.I would advise anyone to give this ago:thumb: And as for the harewood track it's fantastic:D |
|
To be honest Graham it was you that go me thinking about doing hillclimbing:thumb: then last summer went along to Harewood to spectate and new from then i had to have ago at this.
Never know i might meet up with you one day:) |
Indeed we may!
But, not in the Impreza. It is for sale to part fund a new direction (hillclimbing) for me. Doing this season in the trusty 911 :D http://i27.tinypic.com/2cmx94j.jpg http://i30.tinypic.com/mku0aw.jpg Good luck with the hillclimbing, you know know how good it is. You will become adicted quickly! Graham The Slow One. |

|
seen a few cars go into the gravel..makes you cringe at the ammount of damage it could cause..is that the case?
|
jesus those brakes look huge
|
I would rather go into the gravel than take my chances on the grass;) no damage at all:cool:
as for the brakes 362mm couldnt get any bigger:lol1: |
Surely the paint was scratched/chipped in places? esp the splitter no? If not you lucky git :)
|
I came away wih no damage to my splitter, bumper or side skirts.the front rim has 2 very small chips to the paint and thats it.i suppose you could say i was lucky:lol1:
|
Great pics.
Did my first day at Harewood on practice day after many years of spectating as a kid , and as you say its addictive! What times were everyone running? |
