I am thinking of buying a UK spec car imported from belgium. The car has the factory fit immobiliser, but no alarm as they are dealer fit. What is the best way to fit an alarm (cat2-1 upgrade or cat 1 installation) and what alarm systems do you recommend?

I would like carjack protection and panic button. I will also be fitting a tracker of some type.

Please help as i have never done any of this before, it will be my first car which deserves an alarm.

Thanks

IIRC the UK cars come with a Sigma M30 Cat1

Congratulations on your purchase
My car has the Sigma M30 fitted but if I didnt I would be fitting either a Clifford a Cobra or a Toad alarm system, in that order. (Dont fit a Meta)
As for the Carjack protection I dont know about that one but think that one of the Cliffords offers it.

As for the tracker well it would be a Tracker see here http://www.tracker-network.co.uk/priv_svrs_set.htm

Cheers

Eagle

There is only one alarm system IIRC that offers anti car jacking modules and that is the Clifford kit.

Funnily enough I have a Clifford Concept 500 fitted to my Imported MY01 and could not be happier with it.

Yea got agree about the clifford systems

Had a Clifford 500 and backjack system fitted to my imported MY01 and have been pleased with it

Might be a bit far to Travel to Leeds but would recommend Max Impact for any alarm install, top job

Go for the clifford G4 concept 600, it has the works and lots of add on's that you can get at a later date (but get the turbo timer with the initial install!) ;)
Excellent system :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Tony

Will just add that it has a panic button, tilt and motion sensors, wireless 3rd immobiliser, anti hijack system (but can be fitted independantly if you choose another system) ports on for trackers so intergrated into your system ;)
