Ive got one fitted to my 96 WRX. The car wont turn over until the switch is pressed. Along with the immobiliser, it provides that little bit more security. Its not difficult to find, and Im sure any thief with half a brain cell would find it soon enough!

ive got an anti hijack alarm which is pretty much same thing......if you dont press the secret button once you fire up the car...after 50 yards or so an alarm keeps buzzing and if you still dont press the button it will cut off automatically...........as said just another deterrant unless you know where the button is.....:wonder:

I fitted one myself to an old MK2 Golf GTI a few years ago, literally it broke the electrical circuit to the fuel pump. I put the switch in the boot well away from the dashboard and you wouldn't believe how many times i forgot that i had left it on.

I think they are a great deterrent

Could also run a feed to the starter motor via the dashboard or under it :norty: and then use the switch to break the circuit.

Doesn't the standard immobiliser cut the fuel anyway?
Or are you taliking about the imports without the immob?

Probably, but if the little gits break into your house to get the keys any standard security is redundant. A none standard device is always good to at least make them earn the car. ;)

i have a device like that on my impreza....came with the clifford alarm. for extra security i even made another one myselp, simple wire from the fuel pump, fused off at the headunit, then onto the battery, obviously with the switch somewhere along the line. catches me out most days
