Hi
Does anyone know if these somewhere on the net that does good deals on plasma screens? Ian |
It depends on what your budget is.
If you're looking for low-end, Dabs are good (www.dabs.com) if you're looking for the upper end, I can recommend LEConcepts (http://www.leconcepts.com/newstore.htm not a great site, but the prices are keen) |
Cheers
Bonus, they just opened a store in the metro centre :) |
I've purchased stuff from http://www.techtronics.com and found them pretty good - prices lower than rrp and service is good with numerous tracking facilities to let you keep your eye on things :)

Heard Plasma screens are still far from the finished article. Apparently for fast moving scenes where the vast majority of the screen is altered per frame they can't cool the plasma quick enough to prevent blurring.
Dunno if this is true but I'd pop along and stick in one of the action DVD's and watch the playback. |
No, that's old news.
Modern screens are 100hz and have no flicker, or ghosting, and most don't even need cooling fans anymore. [Edited by DavidBrown - 1/28/2002 10:13:51 AM] |
I saw Crouching Tiger on one recently and the picture was incredible. Made my projector look poor in some depts especially colour and blacks, edges were almost perfect and motion - no probs, I would love to have one for the lounge and keep the projector for the "cinema" stuff.
Arent prices falling now? |
try this www.goplasma.com |
Cheers for the info guys.
One quick question, how do you rate the lesser known brands? Or is it better to stick with the usual Sony, Pioneer etc etc kinda stuff? Fujitsu seem to make loads of these screens at keen prices too, does anyone have or know if these are good or not? Ian [Edited by Maxy_UK - 1/28/2002 7:50:46 PM] |
