Supporting mods for a TD04 hybrid??

A mate of mine has a MY05 WRX (euro import) and is wanting to add an Andy Forrest TD04 Hybrid, with a remap from him too. Thing is; hes not too sure exactly what supporting mods he's gonna need. What is required??

Cheers

E-mail Andy Forrest :)

Obviously.

He has emailed Andy; but he didnt mention a fuel pump, injectors or TMIC upgrade. Obvisouly, Andy knows what is needed, I was just trying to get a grasp of other people's opinions/experiences of using this turbo, and what supporting mods they used with what outcomes.

Also, will the stock clutch be alright at roughly 300bhp/300lbft? It only has 17k miles on it atm...

I would say decat up-pipe, sports cat/decat from turbo back will get the most from the TD04H. Injectors and TMIC will be up to the job. As will the pump....no harm in sticking in a walbro for more head room tho.

View My Scooby for my supporting mods.

I think a fuel pump, injectors and TMIC upgrade are more safety measures than anything else. Most people upgrade the pump as a minimum. Personally, I have all 3 done now.

On my original remap I had an STI TMIC, uprated pump and standard injectors, but with the fuel pressure adjusted to get the most from the turbo. The car made 306bhp & 293lb/ft at Dastek rolling road.

With the injectors upgraded, a 3 port boost solenoid and a further map it made 314bhp & 328lb/ft on Deltadash.

My standard clutch has been fine (touch wood). General opinion seems to be they are OK at 300/300.
