Can anyone recommend me a good 360 game...

After playing COD4 online solidly for the past few months I think its now time to broaden my horizons, do the unthinkable and buy a new game (I bought COD and Assasins Creed at the same time and have played AC twice :freak3:) Went to GAME in Bluewater and must admit that not much jumped out at me Vegas 2 looked ok but fancy a change from a fps. Anyone got Viking:Battle of Asgard? Any good?

Looks like Grand Theft Auto IV will be a must....

depends what you have already.

Billyokco 30 March 2008 11:23 PM

just completed dmc4 and bioshock. on with mass effect all great single player games. or try army of 2 for co op online

messiah 31 March 2008 09:51 AM

Oblivion? cheap as chips these days... FPS though - First Person Swordplay! :D

oh and Burnout Paradise :thumb:

Tobisausage 31 March 2008 09:59 AM

Don't try army of two, it's utter ****e

myblackwrx 31 March 2008 10:26 AM

Vegas 2 is bugged to feck in the single player,i haven't managed to play a ranked game without terrible lag and that's when i've managed to get into a ranked game, social games are all right but still suffer from lag.

Bioshock is extremely good imo ,great story ,looks good ,plays well, not bugged (as far as i know).
Oblivion as you can now buy the edition which has the extra bits of the game which you had to download.

Forza 2? the best online racer currently available on any of the next-gen consoles (note I've not included PC's in that sim-fans ;) ) :thumb: :thumb:
Gears of War - short lived but brilliant online and co-op, a bit pants single player though.
Crackdown - I think I'm the only one that loved this game?
PGR4 - Arcade racer
End of April sees the release of GTA4 :thumb:

I loved Crackdown as well. Superb leaping around the city.

It was a very under rated game, really enjoyed it :thumb:

opps, yes I did! :o :thumb:

messiah 31 March 2008 11:24 AM

Crackdown was a bit boring to begin with, but once you've ranked up your abilities a bit its hugely addictive, and don't get me started on collecting Orbs...

Neanderthal 31 March 2008 11:32 AM

fecking orbs!!

messiah 31 March 2008 11:33 AM

1250 / 1250 :D

Neanderthal 31 March 2008 12:32 PM

Luckily another decent game came out and saved me from my obsession!
Not sure how many I found but I wasn't anywhere near the total!

But now I'm obsessed with finding the flags in Assassins Creed!

I made that hard for myself by randomly collecting them as i came across them, looking back in hindsight best plan is to make sure you collect all 33 from the city before unlocking the next segment, then getting the next 33 etc, otherwise missing 1 out of 100 is a pita to find :(

And didnt they make the orbs easier to find for those wusses that were whinging :D

Neanderthal 31 March 2008 12:42 PM

lol yeah, at least you heard that "orb nearby" sound with Crackdown. Assassins Creed doesn't afford that luxury! And I agree, collecting all the flags before unlocking the next bit is better than what I've done so far :(

Tobisausage 31 March 2008 12:45 PM

I have done everything in assassins creed apart from the fecking flags and the templars. I have the maps which locates all of the flags but I just cant bring myself to do it!!

messiah 31 March 2008 12:48 PM

I was really anal with the flags, probably because of the Orbs! went and DL'd maps of all the different areas and cleared them of everything as I played through (to begin with anyway!) so after finishing the main storyline I only needed to finish off the last district of each city. Getting them all in the Kingdom was the biggest pain, couldn't just travel from one to next without getting into a fight.

Oblivion has a nasty habit of eat your time. One minute you start playing at 8 and the next think you know its 4 morning and you still have just one more quest to complete

filfy 01 April 2008 10:36 AM

Oblivion fooking love that game:thumb:

StickyMicky 01 April 2008 11:46 AM

AC i missed out the flags :D

did all the missions, side missions and such, but the flags = no chance
burnout paradise i dont really get, got about 9 hours playtime on it and i feel i have seen everything the game has to offer, so i`m going to trade it in.

bioshock was good, but about 3/4 way in i started getting a little bored, worth picking up a preowned copy IMO

dont really think that any new releases are any good to be honest, tooo many people are saying R6 is a bit crap and best thing to do is play COD instead

new map pack coming out for COD in the next few days.

i got bored with mass effect as well.

iirc i have "mass effect", "burnout paradise" and "the club" to trade in at the moment but nothings tickling my fancy.

Cheers for the info. Seen Forza 2 for 25 quid in game so will have some of that. Played PGR4 round a friends and must admit I wasnt impressed enough with it to spend 40 quid (got PGr3 already). I should really try and get into Assasins Creed. Must have only played it for about 2 hours. Every time I put it on I think that I could be playing COD4 :S

btw my gamer tag is "Scooby R6" if anyone wants to add me.

I played a lot of COD4 for a while and before that tried Halo 3 which I didn't get on with, it felt too slow. But now I've gone back to Halo 3 (as research for a project ;) ) and I'm actually enjoying playing. I think the whole COD4 thing got annoying quite quickly, far too many grenades, and the Martydom just got annoying!!

Ghetto Dude3 03 April 2008 08:41 AM

i picked up PGR4 from argos for £15 or £20 as well

played it, compleated the main mode and traded it in for £15 within a month :D
i kept PGR3

A good game that can be found in bargain buckets every where is Just Cause - worth checking out. Looks a bit dodgy from the cover and the blurb on the back but there's loads of stuff to do.

Looking forward to No. 2.

Also looking forward to Far Cry 2 later this year, I really enjoyed the first game on the 360 - you can also pick that up now under a tenner at a lot of places.

is it that bad?

i gave the demo i quick go this morning, and while it felt a little clunky, i did enjoy it, this was with another real person as co-op so maybe you just played single player (seams to be why it gets bad reviews AI faults)

i loved gears of war and this feels a bit the same.

This is my rant on play.com

"The way in which this has been advertised is extremely misleading. If you watch the trailer you are given the impression the game involves intuitive coop play to overcome the problem you are presented with and this is the only way you can progress through the game. Disappointedly (almost infuriately) this is not the case, there are only a handful of cases where you HAVE to work together (and these are just bunking you up a wall) so you are left playing a very average 3rd person shooter.

During combat you feel extremely dethatched from what you are trying to do and what is happening on screen. If you decide to run while shooting your cross hairs move and a slight change in camera angle means you are constantly making adjustments while spraying bullets into the floor. The AI of the NPCs is very good, but almost too good, unless you manage a HS then you find yourself shooting a fleeing NPC in the back. You get them down to 1HP and they either hide or you run out of ammo.

The game is very very short and has a very basic 'storyline'. Yeah you can play it through on the harder settings but once you have completed it once pretty much all the weapons are unlocked and it is more infuriating rather than an enjoyable challenge.

The online game play for the first couple of days was simply appalling, constantly failing to connect, getting booted within a few seconds of the round start etc etc. I am sure this will get better over time but why wasn't it properly tested before release?

Graphically it is nice, the cut scenes are some of the best I have seen in a game for a while but none of this helps when the rest of the game is so bad.

I seriously cannot believe people are reviewing this game after just 4hours of playing it and saying it is 'amazing' and 'brilliant'. It is not brilliant in any shape or form, it is a really bad attempt at making what could have been a great game. Buy Rainbow 6 if you want a decent COOP game or COD4 for a decent FPS game."

Ghetto Dude3 04 April 2008 12:23 PM

i was going to trade a load of games in today and pick a copy up, but decided to give the demo another go tonight "just to make sure"

might be worth waiting for a preowned copy to turn up in the games shop!
