is my mileage to high
 

i have a 2000 turbo my00 it s just done 80000 miles but i want to go for a td05 18g with supporting mods the car has had all its services on time has been used on the 1/4 mile a few times but drives like its brandnew basics are i am aiming for as high a torque figure i can get with the 18g any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated :thumb:

Its not just the engine you need to consider - the gearbox will come into question, which can be just as costly.

16g was too much for mine...

As Bob says, you'll need to budget for a good gearbox; expect yours to let go with an 18G tuned to its potential: around 2k for a 6 speed supplied and fitted or around 3k for a PPG gearset.
