DCCD / C-Diff Settings & Fuel Economy
 

Sorry if this has been asked before, or if it seems like a daft question. I do 120 miles a day in the Scooby, most of them motorway, and while I appreciate fuel economy was not at the top of the agenda when considering a Scooby, I'm wondering if adjusting the diff to reduce the torque (?) will improve economy slightly?

What quite a few people do if they do lots of miles is go out and buy a cheap diesel (306/citroen/106/mondeo/escort etc) for next to nothing, cheap to run, cheap to maintain, cheap to insure, pays for itself after about the first 3 months (thats tax/insurance and fuel).

i did the above bought a pug 306 1.9td for 300quid t+t as i was doing nearly 140 mile round trip to work each day . roughly10-12quid a day with the pug .against 25-30 quid in the scoob . and i was working 7 days a week for 2 months at a time so was well worth the small outlay for the pug. insurancs was only 200 ish with no ncb as i use my 10yrs ncd on the scoob.

they are boring to drive but when the weekend comes round just makes you appreciate your scooby more and you have a few more quid for mods:)

Same as what I have done. I shall be running an old 306 diesle to work and back to save on the fuel costs.

LOL - Yes, is quite thirsty. Have to fill up every day as the tank won't quite make the journey twice (probably would just but don't like to risk it).

Is marginally more expensive than my old 350Z. Probably about £30 per day. Sounds expensive but the journey is as boring as hell so need something to spice it up. 5 miles exciting B roads to the motorway, 50 miles boring M1 then 5 miles slightly less boring A road.

Ho hum - at least I can stop playing with the DCCD button now. ;-)
