Can someone explain what is the benefit of instaling them on MY06 STI? Thanks

No benefit on a std engine

And tuned?

Good idea on a Uprated engine - improves the clamping force on the head gasket.
The Standard Subaru Head Gaskets are fine unless you are running BIG horsepower/torque.
