I gave the scratches a go with the kit today as it came in the post as promised in 2 days.

I will get pics up this evening hopefully.

You've gotta be seriously patient with this stuff, so far the deepest scratches are out about 50% out and that was after about 6-8 goes at it,you can still see where marks are but at a short distance you probably wouldn't know they are there.

The thinner, less deep have gone by about 70%.

I'm going to give all the scratches again another go as i think the paint i've put on will be able to cure slightly.

I think i was expecting too much for it to be a miracle product that would get rid of the scratches completely.

i've not yet given the front "road rash" bits on my splitter and front bumper. But will do that next week too.

Yeah mate, it's all about patience and putting layer upon layer, but once it's done, you wouldn't even know it was there!!

Glad you got a good service, think I should ask them for commission???

I am sitting looking out the window at some miserable god dam rain and wind that is tearing around the house and generally :mad: me and all I can think is

Langka is good, but can be tricky - it essentually removes the 'new' paint you put in the chip (best for solid colours that dont use lacquer btw). you blob it up and then use this stuff with a cloth and flat bit of plastic to work it flat... i always found that i took too much paint off and ended up with the chip still there... but its a practice makes perfect thing and ive seen good results.

Best kit ive used is the Mer scratch repair kit as that worked wonders on things like key marks and big chips etc.

This stuff sounds good, I think I might give it a shot, the front of my car is looking awful now :(

No matter how much I clean it, it never looks "clean" anymore on the very front. :(

Can this stuff be used on the plastic bumper as well or is it just on the metal panels?

used it both on the bumper and the bonnet, both give great results!!

withour laquering a whole panel, is there a way to laquer a scratch that i've painted.

Okay we had one nice day today so after football this morning, it was back to have a go with my colourchip. had to wash my girlfriends car first :( but eventually had the time.
Was a bit apprehensive at first, but my confidence grew and did the whole blooming bonnet and even wing mirrors and one front side panel :)

Then the pre-fast stage. This was the most time consuming bit as you have to let the solution work away at the excess paint and since I had been a tad over enthusiastic , I had quite a long job ahead of me :(
But when done I think you will agree it worked quite well

My take on this product is that it is a simple and cheap way to do the work that Chipsaway and like minded companies do but at a fraction of the cost.
You are simply painting the chips. Big chips are difficult to fill unless you do 2 or 3 applications.
But having said that if you have the time and patience, you can make your bodywork look much better :thumb:

oh and one tip, dont let it dry too long at the painting stage. The longer you let it dry, the longer you have to work the pre-fast stage..

I've got to the point with mine where I don't want to do a proper clean cause you get close and see all the stone chips you've picked up over the winter months :(

Yup, it worked a treat. I was doubtful at first and a little bit " oh this is going to look crap", but like you say, small patches at first and take your time.

There are a couple of larger chips (from bloody gritters :mad: ) that have improved but are still noticeable and I am sure they will require some serious amount of TLC.
Funnily enough the car went into the bodyshop today for the rest of the week for respraying of the bumper, P1 splitter, fog covers and bonnet vents to be done, so it will be interesting to see if the guys at the bodyshop notice the DIY efforts :lol1:

If you dont mind me asking how much did the respray cost you?

no problem at all. They are respraying two sets of fogs, are repairing and making good a P1 splitter which has a few splits, spray and then fit onto the newly sprayed bumper.
22B bonnet vent sprayed and refitted

all for around £220 I think
