I'm looking at Audi A4 avants for the next car, TDi versions as I'm now doing 250 - 300 miles a month.

Looking at the prices, 02 - 04's are going for 10 - 15k for cars that have done 60 - 70K miles.

Is this reasonable? Seems a lot of miles for an awful lot of money.

For only 250-300 miles a month, why bother with a diesel?

250 miles a month isn't a lot. Do you mean a week?

250 miles a week isn't that much ;)

What about an Octavia? Similar build quality, engines etc. just without the badge. You could get a new one for £16k and a good one with lower miles for £10k. I have a TDi vRS and it's doing 20k per year with no problems.

If you want a 'prestige' badge, what about a 320d touring? At least the right wheels are doing the driving!

Yes I did mean per week.

I'm trying not to move away from awd ;) just changing the fuel type. Also trying to keep the same sized car.

Sounds like a lot of money to me.

If it were me, i wouldn't bother with AWD and get a nice 7 series.....should save a couple of grand too.
