Looking to but a zerzo but advise needed???
 

I'm looking to buy an impreza terzo edition. It is advertised has having a worn 5th gear selector. The seller has told me that it will cost £600 to repair it. What do you guys think to that? Is this a common fault and will it cost me £600? Would appreciate the advise before I commit to buy,

Hi there, you can get a gearbox for less than that from a scrappy's

£450 here HDC SUBARU - parts .. breaking .. salvage .. consumables.. mail order

Not sure, although someone that knows more will hopefully be along soon to answer that. It should drive, just maybe not go into 5th depending on how bad the problem is. Have you not had a test drive of the car? I was just pointing out that a whole gearbox can be had for 450 so him saying 600 to replace selector seems a bit strange.
