Vista Desktop Icons

I did ask about this quite a while ago and didn't get a result but here we go again. Why is it that when I drag a website link onto the desktop the companys logo disapears and is replaced by the big "e" logo !!!!!!!

This wasn't a problem when using XP

I guess it is just the way Vista works. You should be able to change the logo by right clicking on the "e" and then altering it.

I don't use Vista day to day yet, still prefer XP. So I don't have that much experience in customising it for fun.

You have to go to Accessories/Ease of Access/Ease of
Access Center, then, under Explore all Settings, click Use the Computer
without a Display. There is a checkbox in there to turn off the Narrator.

Have you got up to date drivers? Have you enabled file and print sharing / network discovery? WMP11 is more stable and more feature rich than WMP10. Can't imagine why you'd want to go back?

There's no way I'd go back to XP now I have Vista. Okay, you need a decent spec pc to run the damn thing, but it's so much better than the old clunky XP.
