You mean from a PC or NAS ?

Both are possible :)

I currently use mine as my media player in the living room, Synology 207+ acting as the media server in my PC room :)

Nope, as long as your ps3 is connected to your router (cable or wireless)

Just enable sharing on your pc, Windows Media Player, under options, configure sharing.

Import your media into WMP's library and the PS3 will be able to see it :)
