mystic_magic 18 March 2008 12:27 PM

Thanks for the replies guys.

So is there no real difference betwen each of them? I cant really see any change between say a HT autos or a Scott lowe?

What they like to fit how longs it take? :thumb:

bossurk 18 March 2008 01:46 PM

i had one from h.t autos the new type (flexi one) I CANT FAULT IT 10 MINS TO FIT ON MY OWN :thumb:

mystic_magic 18 March 2008 01:52 PM

Whats involved? drill some holes thread some bolts?

DarrenSTI 18 March 2008 04:09 PM

I myself nearly went for a Scott Lowe one, but heard things about their toughness, this is where the HT Autos one was favoured, they use a more flexable plastic, that will take a few more knocks and scraps, thought this was the way to go being as its sit lower to the ground.

Fitting time, took me 20/30mins, more fiddley trying to get the screws in, no drilling needed, all holes aready there in the bumper, x2 either side near the wheel then x4 in the centre, all nuts and bolts are supplied.

Please note the STI Badge on mine was not supplied, brought that from Scoobyparts. The Scott lowe splitter comes with an Alloy badge, but yet again the whole thing was about 70quid more than the HT Autos one.:thumb:

mystic_magic 18 March 2008 05:32 PM

Cool thanks for that info, i will have a good look on the HT autos site to make sure i get the right one then :)

Flaps 18 March 2008 05:54 PM

I've the Scott Lowe one, all holes were pre-drilled and lined up with the existing holes on the front bumper. I'm not mechanically minded but it only took me about 20 minutes to fit. The HT auto's one looks pretty good though (but not as shiny as mine ;) )

codie247 18 March 2008 09:28 PM

another from HT Autos. Bent this one under on a low kerb, reversed back and only got a small scuff for my troubles:thumb: .

mystic_magic 13 September 2008 01:09 AM

at least yours was concrete and not mud lol

cw42 13 September 2008 11:37 PM

I had a ht autos on, but broke it when coming off a field over a large lip through a gate. Understandable that it would break really as it's dragging on the floor at that height.
Not bothered to replace as my car is now lower. Ht autos new flexi one was much better than the old fibreglass one they used to sell though. That broke when I touched a curb, so I'd hate to pay out for a carbon fibre one and see that break :(
