Advice needed. Upgrading poor brakes on Standard 95 STI
Looking to upgrade my brakes on 95 STI and have a few questions. I only use it for normal driving at the moment but plan on doing the odd track day, maybe 1 a year. My brakes seem really poor me, my TIP car, a 96 Carina brakes better.
1) If I try some decent pads and they don't make any difference will they fit straight into some new age 4 pots. 2) Can you recommend some resonably priced decent pads that don't squeak. 2) Will the new age 4 pots and disks fit with my standard 16" alloys. 3) Can I run the standard brakes on the back without too many problems, I am a bit worried that with better brakes on the front brakeing may be stange if I leave the back standard. |
i've upgraded my nasty 2 pots for 4 pots from a later car and had to change the wheels to late model imprezas (i.e. the cars that already had 4 pots as standard) i went for the 5 spoke ones.
Plus uprated pads and goodridge hosing and dot 5.1 fluid. Left my rear brakes as standard and there are no problems. Do you mean will 2 pot pads fit 4 pot calipers ,if so no they won't. AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists (speak to Alyn) as he is very helpful. |
4 pots
if your wheels are like the RS ones on this site
SubaruProParts.com: Your OEM And Aftermarket Subaru Source Then they will fit over subaru std 4 pots. |
They are gold and very similar but not exactly the same. They don't have the little groove at the end of each spoke. How do upload pictures on here ?

Does anyone know if subaru 4 pots and disks will fit under these classic 16" STI wheels?

https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...-calipers.html i've posted a picture of my 4 pots on here and you can see the design goes out to allow the 4 pots space. |
