Getting MAC code from ISP?

A mate used to be with Orange broadband two years ago but due to some disagreement the broadband was disconnected

Anyway he's trying to sort out sky broadband after two years without internet but Sky wants a MAC code. He's called orange Broadband up but they are not willing to give him a MAC code unless he coughs up loads of money.

Is there any other way he can get a MAC or get connected with Sky without paying orange?

2 ways

1st....plead with orange for it

2nd.....write to ofcom explaining that orange will not release the mac code and inform ornage you are doing this. they may relent

either way, no new service can be installed as the line test will show an incompatible service on the line (i.e there still exists an active connection)

Orange have to provide the code irrespective of whether he owes them money or not. Threaten them with the regulator and theyll soon oblige.
